I just got the TMobile Internet 5G Gateway. I’d like to connect my Netgear AC1900, but the Netgear auto setup asks for the coax to be connected. Is there a way to use this modem/router with the TMobile Gateway?

The Netgear AC1900 is a cable modem for use with Comcast and such, and not a regular router.  It appears it cannot be hooked up to the T-Mobile Home Internet gateway.

You should get into the Netgear User Guide for your router. You should be able to set it in bridge mode or AP mode and connect it to the T-Mobile GW via Cat5e or Cat6 ethernet cable assuming it does also have an Ethernet WAN interface. If you connect the Netgear to the T-Mobile GW and plan to use the wireless on the Netgear then disable the SSIDs on the T-Mobile gateway. Depending upon the T-Mobile GW you have, the Nokia or the Arcadyan how you disable the wireless radios on the gateway is a little different. I recommend going to YouTube and watching Nater Tater’s videos to get the low down on either gateway.

If your Netgear router only has coax and no Ethernet WAN interface well that will change the equation. You would probably not even want to go there. You might be able to use a MoCA adapter but well it adds another layer to the equation. Get into your Netgear manual and see what you gain by going there. You are going to have to research a bit more on this if you only have a coax WAN interface.
