I have been a Tmobile home internet user for almost two months now. After positioning the gateway for 2-3 bars on both primary and secondary (RSRP's about -95 to -102), I still have intermittent problems. While the gateway still shows internet access and good wifi signal levels and good wired connections, the entire system just hangs with no internet access on any attached device. VoIP phone service has been erratic too. Frequent gateway reboots are getting VERY old. Tech support has been little help in the long run. Reliable internet access gets better for a day and then back to reboots. I have about 28 devices connected to the gateway. I do have a fan under the gateway I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how it may have been fixed. Thanks!
Just went over to Youtube TV, like the Discovery Plus App it needs a lot of work. The live stream freezes just 5 minutes after you start watching. Also since the app is going away i hope Tmobile plans on redirecting the three red buttons on the remote to function with Youtube TV. It would only make since. Right now my Roku TV is running Youtube TV a lot better. Tell me i didnt waste my money
Can someone help me out. Can anyone refer me to what kind of wifi extender I should be looking for. Sorry. Not very computer literate much less wifi. I was looking at the eero mesh wifi router on Amazon, but before I spend that much money on something I want to make sure it would work with TMobiles wifi. Cannot find any info about this eero mesh. Any help or suggestions for other systems is greatly appreciated.
I just got the Nok 5G21 home wifi device and got it working but once I got onto the web interface I was disappointed by the options available. Basically, just wifi SSID settings and not much more.Any idea if there is the ability to set it up as a pass-thru?Any port forwarding options?Or is that just it?
Tmobile are just just going to keep ignoring all your customers? We need a fix to the gaming issues or I am sending this piece of crap back. Why will nobody from tmobile respond if you all are trying to fix the problem. Only been with tmobile for a month and customer service is horrible. Let us know if you are working on it or just don't care please
Hi all, just received our new home high speed home internet device (the barrel-shaped gray one) and so far, so good. Is there a way to set up a guest network on it, so there are two separate logins on the device? The end goal is to create a separate system for our smart devices, so the next question is whether we can set up a normal router (vs a mesh) and accomplish that (like we did previously with our former coaxial cable internet provider). Thanks in advance for your help!
I just received my 5G gateway and have set this up. I’m a software engineer with a solid knowledge of electronics and telecoms but I’m not up to date with latest stuff.Anyway I have the device setup, we also have ADSL but I want to explore 5G so I subscribed to see how it behaves.I have a single PC cabled into the gateway, nothing else in the house communicates (yet) with the gateway (my phone does talk to the gateway over wifi to inspect it, but that’s all).I got a 3bar signal and set the unit on my desk and it seemed OK, very much faster than ADSL.But after an hour I began to get randomly “No internet” and the device had disconnected. This has been the case for the past two hours now. Up then down like 10 mins, 5 mins, 2 mins, 8 mins uptime then brief loss of connection. The 3bar signal strength seems steady. There are a primary and secondary signals reported on the web page that proves the gateway.Does anyone have any idea what lies behind these disconnects? My zip is 85207 and all ind
It has been doing this at least once a day….this is after I plugged in a fan on the bottom on the usb-c port. it is lowering the temp out from top about 10 C so I thought it would be helping….but why does it self reboot? when it does this of course I loose connectivity like 3-4 min. I will unplug the fan today and see if the rebooting stops.
I recently tried a trial subscription of Hulu + Live TV through my T-Mobile Home Internet Service. It won't work due to their security measures. I signed in using my laptop and that worked fine. I managed my account and added my Samsung TV. Went to my TV to activate it and I got an error message. Chatted with tech support and they said my IP address for the TV was in the wrong zip code area. My IP is likely generated from a router in Somerville, MA whereas I live in Wells, ME.The laptop works because they expect a laptop to move around but they can't buy that my TV in Wells has a Somerville IP address. Tech offered no work around other than to cast it to my TV.Just an observation in case anyone is contemplating the Hulu + Live TV service, it may not work.
Using my VAIO SX14 Windows 10 Pro Laptop:I cannot access my Gateway at 192.168.12.1. Network trouble shooting says “You computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (192.168.12.1) is not responding”.and “Security or Firewall settings might be blocking the connection”Also I can no longer access any of my networked PCs or access this laptop from any of my PCs.Can anyone suggest how I could fix this? Thanks in advance.
T-Mobile stop treating as if this is a phone. I have searched and searched and can not find answer. I live in an area where 4G, 4G LTE, and 5G is available. However the 5G signal is weaker than the other, so the gateway goes to the strongest signal. Stronger is not the fastest. When I can get it to connect to 5G for moment the speed is 250 Mbps download; but what happens the signal competing with 4G which drops my connection to 50 Mbps. I have a 5G phone it connects with no problem in certain areas of my home. What I need is the ability to only connect to 5G in the settings. Anyone have a solution until T-Mobile fixes this problem. Should be easy fix to just say only connect to 5G, and based on some of the reviews I think this is more of a common problem than T-Mobile understands. Anyways, anyone else experiencing this issue and found a solution?
Hello,My NOK5G21 is not utilizing EN-DC as it will not grab a secondary signal like it is suposed to. My gateway is on n71 primary but it will not grab a secondary signal or flip to n71 on secondary and grab the much stronger signal LTE in my area band 2, 12. T-Mobile is no help with these devices, they dont seem to know anything about their product or how to work them. Very disappointed in their tech team. Does anyone have any idea on how to get it working?
My t-mobile internet, especially lately, has been the worst internet I have ever bought/dealt with. My wife with her iPhone 12 Pro gets medium 5g coverage most of the time at our house. Why does our home internet modem averages weak to poor signal? I’ve never gotten a better signal than weak. It is also CONSTANTLY losing connection to the internet witch is hard on my wife when she works from home full time and is constantly dropping connection to her work. I’m never getting the minimum download speed I was told I would at least be getting and streaming and or gaming is virtually impossible. Please help or I’m going to have to cancel and go back to our previous internet provider.
Hey,so two days ago I received my tmobile home internet gateway router and it works great with one issue I have not been able to overcome which is I also have the cellspot for expanding coverage in my house as there is hardly any to no signal within the house to use our phones. We have wifi calling and everything enabled and it just didn't work at all, but the cellspot worked great. The issue is the cellspot transmits a tmobile radio signal and my home internet wants to connect to the cellspot because it is the strongest signal it can pick up and obviously that wont work because the cellspot is connected to the home internet gateway router. So is there a way to blacklist or block the home gateway router from using the cellspot signal and to connect to the cell towers instead? With the cellspot off the home internet gateway router works great with awesome speeds, as soon as I plug in the cellspot I get nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated
New to TMobile home internet, couldn’t wait to receive the new tower. It’s a NOK 5g21 HW Ver 3TG00739B.After initial set-up it seemed to work OK, and was fast compared to our cell phone hot spot. Now not so much….Was on the phone with customer support for over an hour yesterday trying to get the tower back up to speed.download speed as tested on “test my speed” a paltry 6.08 Mbpsupload speed: 35.26customer support had us reboot several times, then reset to factory specs.Primary SignalPCI 412Band B2EARFCN 675 Secondary SignalPCI 6Band n71NR-ARFCN 125290The cell tower is approximately 1 mile away from the house with a clear line of sight no obstructions. The NOK 5G is sitting next to a window with no obstructions and bounces between 4 and 5 bars signal strength.I am not “tech” smart being an old dinosaur, and would appreciate some insight as to what the heck is going on? We are in a remote desert location and thought this was the answer to our internet dreams LOL Any help is
Wanted to see if any T-Mobile reps were active in these forums. I have been on the home Internet service for about a month now.I was previously on ATT 4G LTE using a Netgear lb-1121 in bridge mode to my Watchguard firewall. I am an IT engineer and been working almost exclusively from home the last 9 months. So to the point of this post. Current speeds are pretty good for the rural area I’m in. 1 mile from tower as the crow flies and seeing 100 down 60 up. However, I had to totally reconfigure my home network due to the VERY limited configuration available for this gateway. Okay no worries all of that done.I understand this is a Nokia Fastmile gateway with T-Mobile specific firmware on it. I’m currently showing version 1.2003.03.0143 of the firmware. The Fastmile has configuration support for vpn passthrough as well as full bridge mode and other basic and advanced settings however it appears that T-Mobile has not developed their firmware to support these settings yet. There are TONS of
I just got T-Mobile Home Internet and while the speeds are great and very consistent, the internet service is not very robust. I have the 5G Grey Cylindrical router. If I try and connect Samsung TVs or my Directv box to the network, either by Wifi or wired ethernet, it often won’t connect. When the devices do connect they are unreliable. Most streaming services won’t work. The connection to the router is fine, but the connection from the T-Mobile end to the internet often just hangs. The same is true on my PC or Tablets. It all appears to work well but it’s very prone to just hanging one process as if its trying to open a connection that will never open. A good example of this is uploading videos to facebook, this almost always hangs. It never begins the upload although other processes can use the internet fine at the same time. It can USUALLY upload ok to Vimeo or Youtube but these also periodically just stall. It’s very flakey and unreliable internet. This is with wired
T-Mobile Home service started dropping internet service and support is giving us the run around! Anyone else experiencing this and any advice before we switch to another carrier? Here is our story: Really liked the idea of T-mobile Home, so we switch our unlimited cell service from Verizon to T-mobile and then added T-mobile Home 9 months ago. We were extremely pleased with cell, home internet and support. Then a few weeks ago it all went bad. The 5G network started dropping internet, infrequently at first but lately as much as 3-4 times an hour. Cell Phone - no problem just got off 5G, 4G network much more reliable.Home Internet - this is a bigger problem, so far support has claimed: Home device can not be change to work on 4G network Support originally told us routine Maintenance on network was causing problem, this was not true as it happens primarily at night outside maintenance window. Support then told us “firmware out of date, claimed it would be updated and solve all
I just signed up for the Home Internet this week and everything installed fine and I tought it was working. My set up is the Arcadyan KVD21 5G gateway with a Nest Wifi mesh system. I connected the Nest wifi to the gateway so I would not have to set up every device in my house. The internet connection on the Nest Wifi will not stay on, it constantly drops and I am getting really frustrated with this. I had high hopes I could finally get speeds at my house higher than 25Mbps and when it works, I do (150+). What good is home internet if the connection constantly drops?Furthermore, they promote you get a year of Paramount+, which I already have through my phone service. I can’t even watch Paramount+ when I do have a connection cause it tells me I am using a VPN, which I am not.Might be time to just bite the bullet and send this back as it seems it is not ready for prime time.
I received this device and have great service so long as I place it on the top level of my house! I want to utilize the LAN ports for an ethernet connection to my home router but it does not seem to negotiate with my router or even my switch? I have tried both dhcp and static settings for LAN1 and I still get no link lights on the router or switch. Connect a WIN10 laptop to the same ethernet cable and it will work with both dhcp and static assignments? What am I not seeing here?
I installed & activated the 5G gateway on 6/11/21. I tried it for 3 days and since the service was great (50 Mbps-120Mbsp down plus normally 20-25 Mbps up) I cut off Xfinity. 3 days after cutting off Comcast on 6/17, my down speeds have been measured between less than 1 Mbps to about 12 Mbps. Multiple calls to 844-275-9310 number, which are often answered by people who speak with very unintelligible accents, here is what I’ve been told over the past more than THREE months:-Sales lady: Don’t worry, if the 5g tower becomes congested, the gateway will automatically switch to a less congested LTE tower. (false)-An actual American lady reset my gateway and said that she had reassigned my primary tower. That apparently actually worked...for less than a day.-Later call soon after: I was informed that there was ‘modernization’ going on in my area and that my service would be great soon. Also the lady (who speaks clear English) promised me a call back in 2-3 days, which she did, BUT-Verbati
