Router Configuring Advice

Hi, this is a followup post to this one where I was looking for a router for my Arcadyan gateway, I picked up the Asus GT-AC2900 (aka RT-AC86U) and set it up yesterday, it is currently working and at similar speeds, so now I'm looking for ways to configure it, hopefully this can help others looking for a router/router advice too, here are some notes I had from my setup/configuring I already tried:-I do have the wifi in the Arcadyan turned off thanks to Nater Tater's easy script and tutorial for how to do so. This keeps the gateway less busy/hot. In case you’re wondering the TMHI app and web interface still work through your router’s network, so does the script, so you can look at data metrics and reboot from there still.​​​​​​​-disabling DHCP on it's own like I had seen in some threads had made the wifi signal stop working (not unavailable it just had no internet), speeds didn't really change either so that was a no-go, if anyone knows more about that please let me know since I likely

disappointment

Very disappointed that T Mobile Home Internet does not work.  I was notified that this service was available to my address.  The ‘sales rep’ was adament that I would receive a very strong signal and have speeds up to 100 megabits.  I told them I live in an area that is mountainous.  Should not be a problem they say because their map shows that I will receive a good signal.  Wrong.  The Gateway arrived and the best ‘signal’ I could receive no matter where I placed it in the house was POOR!!  I even contacted the supposed service tech and they too saw my signal was POOR. But had the audacity of saying that was STILL GOOD!!  Are You Kidding Me!!  I even tried to connect some of my devices and they could not find the internet via the Gateway.  After much discussion ‘they’ finally agreed to send a return label.  Point is I should never have been given the opportunity to try. My area being what it is, unless you are close to the tower you will not get a decent signal.  I just hope I don’t ha

Cancellation and refund

I ordered internet service on 05/10/2022 and received equipment on 05/17/2022.  I used the internet maybe 2 days and I cancelled and returned equipment on 05/19/2022.The T-Mobile received returned equipment on 05/25/2022 and they told me the refund credit will process 5 - 7 business day which is before my payment due date 06/07/2022.  But the credit was not processed until my payment date, so I paid full payment even I did not use the internet service.I called them and complain about the credit and they said, ‘I don’t know why the credit is not processed and I will process it now’.  Are you kidding me?  I called T-Mobil twice about the refund and confirm the credit before my due date but it’s not correctly processed on time.  How it possible even T-Mobil doesn’t know the credit is not processed until I called them today.I am more them 7 years with T-Mobile and I am so disappointed their service.

Cisco AnyConnect VPN issue with T-Mobile

New user here. T-Mobile Home Internet works fine at home. However, I do encounter the problem to use VPN. My gateway is ARC KVD21, not Nokia. What is the solution to this issue? Do I need to contact T-Mobile technical group?

Arcadyan

The T-Mobile app goes in and out. The app will show no bars! I changed the admin password and Wi-Fi passwords, and the app says I’ve entered the wrong password, but the web interface accepts changed passwords. the 2mghz line shows no internet at times. when trying to reconnect my Alexa devices it shows no internet! This has been an ongoing problem for months.I am currently on hold to speak to someone, 30 minutes and counting. This is the worse customer service I’ve ever dealt with. When they want to end the call, they pretend there’s a bad connection, SMDH!

Enable advanced mode for "Gateway"

please offer the nokia modem to advanced users to begin with, or enable advanced settings so a user can disable wifi/dhcp/dns etc.  I use my own recursive DNS, DHCP server, and Wifi router, I’d like to use the t-mobile service but it doesn’t work for me.

Can’t find the email address and the gateway coverage button does not work. I have one it works great and i want to install another at a differnet location but dont want to spend 20 mins on hold. it is like they are trying to piss off customers.

Ruud Thermostat will not connect.

I changed from Mediacom internet to T-Mobile internet so I had to reset the wifi on my Ruud thermostat to be able to display the current weather on the thermostat and to use the Econet app. I am having a problem of not being able to connect to the wifi that has an internet connection. I called Ruud/Rheem for help. Went through the steps but would always lose the connection in the final step. I was told if the steps we went through did not work, it was something on T-Mobile’s end that was causing the problem. I had no problem setting up the thermostat when I had Medicom. Any suggestions?

TMobile Home Internet -- Great signal but no internet?

Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue. My unit is up on a second floor window. Constant five bars and I am not far from a 5g tower. But ever since I separated the bands (2.4ghz vs 5ghz) so I could live a smart Google home life again, my unit has been crashing. I've called in and done several factory resets. Most of which did not help up until I did a factory reset on my end and the expert did one as well on their end? Or at least that's what I was told? Anyway, it worked great up until I separated the bands about 24 hours later. I only reconnected a few smart devices and went to bed. This morning, I'm back to where I started with 5 signal bars and no internet connection. I'm chatting with a tmobile expert right now and we're troubleshooting it. I guess I'm getting a replacement in two days, but I'm hesitantly optimistic. Anyone else have a similar experience and solutions? Would adding a router help at all for what I'm guessing is a bandwidth issue?

Gateway stopped working after two months

The Home Internet Gateway worked fine for a couple of months with upload speeds of ~300 Mbps and ~35 Mbps down even though it was showing just two bars. Then four weeks ago the connection started to drop intermittently, progressively getting worse until a couple weeks ago the internet connection dropped off so frequently that the TV became unwatchable and internet connection was sporadic that email servers started to disconnect.  I have called and spoken to their tech advisors countless number of times and hours to no avail. They even sent me a second Gateway unit which did not do any better. As I type this message on my iPad, I am using their ultra slow hot spot connection to my phone and  forced to go back to another internet provider. Anyone have similar experience with the TMobile Gateway?  Is there a solution to my problem other than another internet provider?

home internet and T-Mobile CSR’s

I’m in Oklahoma and have been having the same issue, it is connected then it goes down then comes back up, it goes through this cycle about every 10 minutes or so, this is not a software issue as I have the newest modem they offer, I have done several factory resets and the issue still persists, I like the service but this is getting ridiculous, we as paying customers should be given an update on the issue that is consistent across CSR’s in T-Mobile, it’s really frustrating when you talk to four or five different reps and there answers are all different so we know the didn’t actually take the time to read notes or research into the problem, also we as customers would like to know if a fix is being put into place and a time frame, T-mobile has a big issue with there lazy customer service reps and there internet.

Internet is down. Discrepencies between techs.

We had a storm come through around May ~25th.  I’m not sure if that had anything to do with anything but this is when I started having internet issues.  While I can connect to my internet it’s worse than dial up speeds and loses connection constantly.  I’ve had almost zero issues in a year.  So I figured I’d reach out.  First tech I talked to assured me there was no outage in my area and sent me a replacement modem.  This arrived very quickly but solved absolutely nothing.  Second tech tells me there is an issue with a tower but it has been acknowledged by an engineer and there is no time frame in sight?  While I am patient, it’s frustrating to be read a script, let alone pay for service that may or may not come back up?  I’d like to talk to someone that can verify what the problem is rather than being told to wait.  Is there anyway to do this before being asked to turn off my modem, factory reset it and or move it to another location again?  Thanks!

T-Mobile Home Internet won't connect to 5G but my T-Mobile Phone will

I brought my new square Arcadyan KVD21 5G Gateway home to find out that it won’t connect to 5G on my tower.  Granted this is not an address that T-Mobile will let you get service, however I have their phone service and I do get 5G here.  With both devices on the same shelf that is known to be the best spot in the house, I can get ~50 Mbps from my 5G Galaxy S22 while my 5G home gateway will only connect to 4G and get at most ~12 Mbps.  It does connect to 5G on at least 3 other towers in nearby towns that are also not addresses T Mobile allows service on.  Is there anything that can be tried to get it to connect to 5G.  I am wondering what needs to be updated on the tower to make it work for me here.

Arcadyan KVD21 5G internet device will never connect to 5G tower

My cell phone and my Arcadyan KVD21 are sitting next to each other.  The cell phone shows a connection to a 5G tower with 3 bars.  The Arcadyan KVD21 always shows a 4G, 3-bar connection.  The speedtest for them shows the Arcadyan KVD21 at about 1/3 to  ½  the speed on the cell phone. How do I get the Arcadyan KVD21 device to connect to the same 5G tower as the cell phone?

Hulu App on Apple TV with iCloud Private Relay

I recently starting trialing T-Mobile Internet.Thought I would describe one issue I encountered in case it might help someone else.When attempting to use the Hulu app on Apple TV 4K with most recent tvOS, the Hulu app asked if I wanted to change my Home location. I clicked Yes, however the change never made any difference (I’m not sure it actually changed anything). Contacted Hulu. Initially they were prettylost as to resolving the issue. Called back the next day. This time I spoke with someone who had the appropriate skills. First I needed to turn off Private Relay. This allowed the Hulu folks toacquire the correct IP address for the Apple TV. They then sent a Home Location change to the app.(I suspect I might have been able to do this myself if I’d turned off Private Relay). That change allowedme to login to Hulu. Live TV worked fine. I then turned Private Relay back on. Restarted the Apple TV and Hulu app. Everything is working fine. fwiw, the Hulu rep who ended up helping me said t

T-Mobile Home Internet new line

When I signed up for T-Mobile Magenta Max 55+ I was told I was eligible for this service. I called 2 times after the initial sign up once for proper set up and then for questions about my internet speed. I was told that my current router app (the Netgear Nighthawk app) doesn’t work with their new equipment (KVD21 5G Gateway) instead I was told to download the app Speedtest (not as good as the Netgear app by far) and it registered that I was on a 2g/3g/5G network. What happened to the 4g network that I was promised? I called a third time to question the network and I was told that I didn’t qualify for the Magenta Max program because I didn’t add a extra line.That was the first time I heard that requirement! I did receive a email notification that I did add an extra line (the line for the modem) and I then read all the fine print documents and again there was no mention of this requirement.Well I raised hell (I cursed at the T-Mobile expert. Hugely variable speeds

About to cancel service (which we hate to do because we are very happy with TMobile otherwise). In a matter of minutes, speeds will switch from 100+Mbps to nearly 0Mbps. Just now the speed test returned 0.42Mbps down and 9.15Mbps up.The LTE info is:Band B2RSRQ -13RSRP -107SINR 15G is:Band N71RSRQ -11RSRP -81SINR --Any help would be greatly appreciated.
