Like many other customers I am quite disappointed with the performance of the home gateway. When it works, it works great. But at least two or three times a week the speed gets throttled and I can only get 8 or 9 Mbps. Not what I was promised and certainly not better than my Verizon Mifi. Buyer beware.
My son has the new Home Internet (grey canister). He downloaded the TMobile Internet app on his IPad tablet to configure it, but it doesn't accept the password that's on the gateway canister.Does the app require initial configuration on a smartphone or computer to set up or is this a faulty gateway canister?
I cannot get a hold of anyone online and cannot use online chat as I cancelled the lines that go with my home internet (and tried to cancel the home internet) and there is no linked number (the home internet supposed line doesn’t work to use for login for chat to confirm number). This has been a horrible process. I can’t contact live chat, phone convos aren’t working, and I want everything documented now. We sent back the modem in July, and have been billed every month. They don’t have notes of the person who told us to send it, claim they haven’t received the device (which they may well charge us for) and have been more or less unworkable. I’m starting a topic here to get some assistance here. I know these conversations are recorded, in late July of this year my wife called and it needs to be looked into. She did what she was told. Someone needs to contact me, 425-263-6334. This needs to be resolved and we need to be refunded back through when we returned this. If it was lost
Home internet is not even usable during the day and I have 4 bars and reset the modem. Nothing loads and I'm connected. It's has speeds of 2g. But at 4:00 pm. I get service. This is not what I expected with T mobile. If I call they say they are working on the lines. Do they throttle internet service. I can't even put my phone on wifi. I would never get any calls.
Got a Nokia modem and have to reboot daily, and slow as hell, now for the best part, tried to get a Arcadia Modem they say it is better, well I can’t get one cause they will not except my credit card, they say because they can’t verify it, and have auto-pay from my checking account, they will not use that, WTF, spent 3 hours on the phone and went to the T-Mobile store twice, nothing was solved… I was told to go to the store and they could check my ID and verify card, NOPE they said that has to be done on the phone… OMG circular BS…Here is the stats on the Nokia modemI like a challenge BUT this is starting to be a bit overwhelming…. I have over 20 hours and mutable days trying to resolve this... Name: ivan Phone #: Signal specialist: Signal Specialist (optional) Application: Application: Home Comments: this is some terrible numbers .. I have walked around the house and barely got two bars.. went up on the roof and picked up a bar.. I see people see have been addi
A couple of days ago I received the email to upgrade my LTE gateway to the new 5G gateway. I followed the process and spoke to a Rep who processed the order for the gateway, however, I never received any confirmation of the order; no email or notification in my account. As it is, I don’t know if, when, or how the gateway is being delivered. Is this normal or should I have received confirmation?
ALL Incoming Calls are OK w/2-way Audio:PROBLEM is Outgoing Calls have 1-way Audio (they can’t hear me) on SOME Phone #’sNOTE: When I say 1-way (audio) I mean they can’t hear me. I can ALWAYS hear them. Usually calls work 2-way - although last few days, everything is “raspy” with static.PROBLEM: Some phone numbers I call are 1-way receiving only - no outgoing audio. One particular number I call is 1-way audio 95% of the time. (This number used to be OK, but then 1-way for weeks, yesterday had single a 2-way call, and now all calls, 3 so far, are 1-way only again. Some #’s work perfectly all the time. Some #’s occasionally are 1-way incoming only. How in the world can I have this problem 95% of the time on one specific phone number I call??? I’ve tried new USB power adapters. T-Mobile said the supplied USB adapter could be bad (no offer to replace.) I have 2 Ankers I’ve been using. There might have been an improvement upgrading to the Anker but that was with my previous 4G Home Int
It is so dumb that the gateway cannot assign a static IP for devices at your home, such as network printer, NAS and others. People suggest to add another router behind the T-mobile gateway. Adding router would create a double NAT issue. It would be great if we can dumb the gateway down into a bridge mode. I do not need the gateway broadcasting the wifi signal next to my router if that’s the way to go.Open these basic functions for advanced users. WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING! That’s why I rather use my equipment with cable internet. As soon as the 90 days cool down period with the cable company is up, I am going to jump back to cable internet for sure if the T-mobile gateway is going to be this useless.
I thought it was a great idea to get rid of Spectrum internet and sign up for T-Mobile Home Internet. Should have done more research. First I have to cancel HULU and sign up for YouTube TV. Now I have lost ESPN and find out that ESPN+ does not carry ESPN, ESPN2, etc. Will now be looking for another internet service.
I have 11 devices connected to the internet, i want to disconnect them from the app but it doesn’t tell me an exact device name for example it gives me “Device (2B00) on one of them, which I have no idea what that would be, is there a way to know an exact name of the devices that are connected to the internet?
I need to provide better wifi coverage for my house. I’ve been using a Nighthawk router with a switch and three TP-Link access points. Will there be problems utilizing my existing access points with the T-Mobile gateway? Can it handle the switch and access points? Or do I need to turn off the radios and use the Nighthawk router?I’m just trying to avoid any surprises or wasted time. Any info/advice would me most appreciated!
Hi! So, I have a new issue (started on April 15th). Prior to April 15th, we were able to get into Roblox no problem using our T-Mobile Home Internet. All of a sudden, on the 15th, we can no longer access it. We get an SSL validation error. The weird thing is, we can access it if I use my T-Mobile phone as a wifi Hotspot (using either T-Mobile cell service or the T-Mobile Home Internet service through my phone.) Also, we can access Roblox via T-Mobile Home Internet but only if we use a VPN. Anyone have any idea why this would be happening? Were there updates to the T-Mobile Home Internet gateway that caused this? Any ideas would be fantastic because I am stumped!
I have one of the original white retangular boxes. I have attempted to call and complain about wifi drops without success. Last person manged to factory reset and I had to reactivate everything. It has always happened as a blip with reconnection (although enought to kick me off of VPN). But lately past fee weeks it has been like clock work between 2-2:30PM and it is down for at least 30 minutes. Anyone have any suggestions. I tried to check updates but wasn’t sure if the list was in chrono order - Ex the update at the top most recent. Calling support makes my BP go up. Spent 45 minutes today just getting some type of ID - but it appears I can’t use that to get any help either. Thanks.
I have called numerous times and this wifi won’t go above 4 bars. My old wifi supported all of our phones and smart TVs and I was told this would too. The only advice they keep giving me is to move it to another spot in the house. Does anyone have any other ideas or maybe I should just keep the wifi I had?
Hello everyone, I have trouble connecting to my home internet. The router says that the internet is connected but when I try to open internet browser on my phone or computer it just doesn’t work. I bought the router at the T Mobil store today. Maybe they just didn’t activate my account yet?
So I am using the 5g home internet and it worked flawlessly for about 10 days, it states now that it's just using 4g instead of the normal 5g. I have rest the 5g modem and rebooted it several times. 5g worked perfectly fine before has something changed with the 5g extended range. Btw I'm located in a rural area in TN.
It says you can stream TV on 3 devices I have 5 phones on my account does that mean only three of us can watch TV at one time because on YouTube TV 6 people on my account total each of us can watch it on three different devices we can have 18 different devices going at the same time 3 per person example everybody has it on their phone and they can watch it on your tablet and stream it to their TV all at the same time plus we all could do this so we can watch 18 different devices at the same time also I travel the US very rarely at home
We've only had our T-Mobile home internet for about 3 days now. When it works right it's awesome. 90 to 100 meg down, 30 or 40 meg up. We've seen instances of sporadic connectivity however. Right now neither my wife nor I can't connect to LinkedIn on our phones when connected through T-Mobile home internet, but when we connect through our normal ISP no problem at all. The issue is not limited to linkedin, it's just something that's reproducible right now, but will go away in half an hour.Needless to say this makes the service not useful for us. We'll be sending the box back unless some fix magically appears in the near future. If anyone else reading this has had similar issues, please add them below. Hopefully somebody from tech support will read this. When I spoke to tech support yesterday, it was news to them that I would be having sporadic on activity and they told me that they hadn't heard of it. But yet I read many people on the forums have had similar issues. Maybe if you add them
RE: Router web-gui Authentication with admin & saving to browser (bug)Software version: 1.2103.00.0338Browsers: Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge, FiredragonOS Tested: MacOS 11.6.3 Big Sur - Windows 10 (current updates) - LinuxNOTE: The nature of this behavior ONLY presents when one saves the admin authentication information in the browser. If the admin account authentication information is NOT saved to the browser this behavior is not seen. I have not seen other reports of this behavior but it only very recently surfaced for me due to the need to make a couple of changes. I previously had NO issue with the saved information and the one obvious factor that stands out to me is the newer 0338 code in the router.First encountered with Safari on MacOS 11.6.3 & Firefox with 1.2103.00.0338Characteristics: If the admin user credentials are saved in either of these two browsers there will be a prompt that presents to save updated authentication each time the authenticated “admin”
When will T-Mobile be honest and up front about our service? Yesterday afternoon I had over 100mbps home internet download speed. Today 32mbps. Why? Or why are we constantly bothered with resetting the modem because we loose connection? Shouldn’t it just establish a new connection the instant it looses connection? And why aren’t all towers 5G when they sell us a 5G device and know where we live? But here’s the big one. I call looking for help and I get a customer service rep tell me “I can get you a booster for your home internet” and he transfers me and the tech laughs about customer service telling me there is a booster for my home internet. Still laughing he says no there is no internet booster. Really!? So many people say how great T-Mobile is. I guess the phrase “Your experience may vary” is quite true with T-Mobile. Sadly Centurylink is even worse and only offers 3mbps download and 1/2mbps upload. I guess I need to move to get good internet. And yes this is more of a rant than a
I noticed after I moved my gray cylinder Home Internet Gateway, which involved temporarily unplugging it from AC power, that the Home Internet app showed two networks, whereas it had only ever shown one before, even though I had changed the SSID several times between NAME1 and NAME2 as I conducted tests on interference between the T-M Gateway network and my existing network. The first network shown is NAME1, 5GHz only. The second is NAME2, 2.4GHz and 5 GHz. Any explanation for what caused this, and advice on getting back to one network would be much appreciated.
