New customer. Been through absolute hell placing an order, and getting the device, then it doesn’t work. Two hours and 15 minutes on tech support calls (not counting wait for call back) out of the first four hours of ownership.Saving the further rant for direct main to main office… Anything I can try, before the return ship?
i have a defective modem that i need to send back to T-Mobile. when the replacement came there was not return label in the box. when i called T-Mobile i was shuffled around and finally told that a new return label would be emailed to me. Never happened. Anyone know where to call or send the modem back - it has shown up as a charge on my bill.
So I went through the application process and got approved but now T-mobile is telling me that my home internet is not eligible for the benefit. What gives? Why have it on the page advertising it if their plan does not qualify? What does someone need to do to qualify? They are advertising that they are a part of this yet no one is having success in setting it up.
T-Mobile Home service started dropping internet service and support is giving us the run around! Anyone else experiencing this and any advice before we switch to another carrier? Here is our story: Really liked the idea of T-mobile Home, so we switch our unlimited cell service from Verizon to T-mobile and then added T-mobile Home 9 months ago. We were extremely pleased with cell, home internet and support. Then a few weeks ago it all went bad. The 5G network started dropping internet, infrequently at first but lately as much as 3-4 times an hour. Cell Phone - no problem just got off 5G, 4G network much more reliable.Home Internet - this is a bigger problem, so far support has claimed: Home device can not be change to work on 4G network Support originally told us routine Maintenance on network was causing problem, this was not true as it happens primarily at night outside maintenance window. Support then told us “firmware out of date, claimed it would be updated and solve all
I had to call 4 times today (all to 844-275-9310) with my new 5G Gateway.First call at 12:01 (22 min) because my new gateway wont connect despite of my cell phone saying it was “activated” (and only after like 12 times). The guy never tried to activate my new sim but told me to move the old sim card from LTE to the new one and it worked… for 3 hours. I called again at 3:59 (16 min) and the lady says I should move the new sim card back to the new gateway which I did not want to do. She then, instead of activating my gateway SIM, inactivated my cell phone! My call was dropped in the middle with my phone saying “sim card not found”. I tried rebooting my phone, reinserting my sim card and no help. I swapped the sim cards between the new and old gateway and neither would work. It appears someone inactivated my old wifi sim card after 3 hours of use and new one was not yet fully activated (despite the phone app saying it was). had to call again using my wife’s cell (imaging if I donot have
Tmobile home internet can't connect to my roku tv. It's visible. But it won't let me connect. I tried my new password, the admin password, and the wifi key. None of them work. When I turn my S21 ultra into a hotspot, that seems to connect just fine to my tv.
We just got our new 5G modem today and have finished setting it up. We followed the instructions, downloaded the app via phone and set it up from there. The WiFi on the phone works great, but for our computers, the internet is not working. After clicking on the ID, it says No Internet, and even when a full set of bars appears, the internet still does not work.We had the old modem shut off and unplugged to set up the new modem, though we have the old one on now to access the internet. We moved the new modem around the house until we got at least 4 bars, but it does the same thing. What ca we do?
The range provided by T-Mobile home internet box has been limited for my house, I was using an Orbi mesh router, this new WiFi now clashes with T-Mobile Wifi, so I was hoping to find a way to just switch off the WiFi from the T-Mobile box and just use the LAN port to give Internet to the Orbi router, which give extreme coverage over 7500 SqFt. If anyone has done this, please let me know, T-Mobile Tech was no help, waiting for a call back, else will have to cancel T-Mobile home internet.
Do you think if I just use the WhatsApp app it will solve the problem of not being able to receive/ send certain texts to/from people? Is this just an iMessage problem? I’m hoping that using WhatsApp might bypass any of the problems of not receiving and being able to send texts. What do you think?
I finally made the switch to T Mobile home internet recently! One problem with my former Internet provider became apparent when I moved to a new town and my zoom calls were being interrupted with poor service on WiFi. Being with T-Mobile has solved the problem! Our zoom calls are smooth without any interruptions of service, and our television is clearer and also has no interruption of service. And to top it off we’re now paying less every month for our internet service! Trust me I do not work at T-Mobile or know anyone that works there. I just wanted to say something positive about them. Their team is very helpful on the phone, upon sign up we had many of our questions answered and any issues taken care of immediately. It was so refreshing to actually be able to speak to a person instead of an automated system. So thank you T-Mobile keep up the good work, and hopefully I can resolve this problem with some texts not being received. I will contact someone and I’m sure they will solve th
upon streaming to twitch I notice something. I can upload too twitch at 10mb with my cable internet provider but when I do the same with my 5g gateway I can only upload at 6mb. My speed tests show my upload for 5g is 70mb. My upload for my cable internet provider is 24mb. On tmobile I get these results from testing the servers I am ingesting my stream too. This is confirmed with other twitch streamers using home 5g home internet gateway to stream. Here is the pics of the speed test between tmobile and cable provider. Tmobile is not going past the 6mb as seen in the test results. Cable internet is doing the full 10mb. Any help would be great. Is this network being throttle on 5g gateway. Thanks guys. Other then this the rest of the 5g high speed gateway has been working great! My speeds for download at 600 to 800mb and upload goes between 70 to 80mb. Pings are from 25 to 30ms and my signal to the tower is -78db on 4g and -74db on 5g which shows 4 bars of signal. Any help would be great
Spent hours yesterday in 3 different departments trying to set up “T-Mobile ID” so I could log in and see the bill, which the original salesperson lied about. Somehow, through this forum, finally tried setup on a slightly different page where the phone number was optional and it seemed to work. I even got an email to that effect. Now I apparently can log in to T-Mobile, but when I try to actually do anything related to my account, such as viewing my bill, I am asked to enter my phone number for verification. Then it repeatedly asks me to check that I entered correctly and I get nowhere. Apparently it still wants a T-Mobile number and I only have home internet service.
Questions regarding Home Internet Gateway… How can I tell if the gateway is connected to a 4g or 5g signal? Is there a way to restrict the gateway to use only 4g?Like many others, I have problems with random disconnects. 5g service is inconsistent in my area, and I wonder if that contributes to the disconnects. To test that theory, I would like to limit the gateway to 4g only.
My T-mobile gateway is displaying a spam message “verifying” my payment of $610 for something or other. It was kind of surprising to see this message in the little round display at the top of the gateway. Does it have a SIM inside and a telephone number that can receive text messages like a cell phone?
I’ve been testing the service and have been disappointed by a few things. First, the router never went to 5G. The display indicated 4G only. I had consistent Very Good signal but download speeds hovered around 15 Mbps. Second, I couldn’t find ways to access any network settings on the router beyond the very basics like network name and password. I have an AirPort Extreme I want to use and I can’t even turn off the wifi on the t mobile router! With all that, I do t think I’m the intended audience for this service but thought I’d share in case there are solutions to my challenges. Thanks!
