tmobike home

Home internet shows connected but nothing seems to work. On tv, connected to T-Mobile home internet but underneath it says No Internet. I swapped out my gateway and problem continues. Any suggestions?

Is anyone else having problems with a changing IP address?

I’ve had the Home Internet service for 3 months now and I’m generally happy with it, but one thing is rather annoying. The external IP address that gets assigned to my gateway keeps changing. This has two side effects. Web sites for CCs, banks, etc remember the IP address that you last used to connect and if it changes, they will require additional verification. The other problem is with streaming TV services. The local broadcasts that I’m allowed to watch will depend on where they think that I’m located. My estimated location usually depends on my IP address and in the last month this has changed 4 times! My IP address location has changed from Kansas to Oklahoma, to Texas and today it thinks I’m on Ohio!

TMobile Home and SONOS, Sonos dropping in and out

I recently switched to TMobile home internet service, so far so good, streaming TV, internet, home automation, etc.I am in an area that has one other option (XFinity) and their service on my street is crap.My 4 - Sonos Ones which have worked fine for years suddenly drop in an out. Mid-song they will just go silent and then start up a minute later on the next song. It happens often.I have looked at the 2.4 vs 5ghz issue, not sure if that is a thing. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

White Askey LTE modems getting firmware updates

Just noticed some metrics are now getting reported with decimal values (had always been whole numbers).  Checked firmware version, and sure enough it has updated.  Found this in the log: So it literally updated last night. No idea of any other changes.  Will have to go through this weekend and see if anything has improved with the UPnP/forwarding or anything like that.

TMobile Home internet

New to TMobile home internet, couldn’t wait to receive the new tower.  It’s a NOK 5g21  HW Ver 3TG00739B.After initial set-up it seemed to work OK, and was fast compared to our cell phone hot spot.Now not so much….Was on the phone with customer support for over an hour yesterday trying to get the tower back up to speed.download speed as tested on “test my speed”  a paltry 6.08 Mbpsupload speed: 35.26customer support had us reboot several times, then reset to factory specs.Primary SignalPCI  412Band    B2EARFCN   675 Secondary SignalPCI 6Band  n71NR-ARFCN  125290The cell tower is approximately 1 mile away from the house with a clear line of sight no obstructions.  The NOK 5G is sitting next to a window with no obstructions and bounces between 4 and 5 bars signal strength.I am not “tech” smart being an old dinosaur, and would appreciate some insight as to what the heck is going on?  We are in a remote desert location and thought this was the answer to our internet dreams LOL  Any help is

WiFi router sugestions that can use different IP address for Home Internet 5G Gateway

I tried to use the Home Internet 5G Gateway/Router in my home network setup, but unfortunately, the router has it’s base IP address (i.e. 192.168.x.x) hard coded into it’s OS, and CANNOT be changed. I have an existing large (for home) WiFi/hard wire LAN network setup on IP base of 10.0.x.x. I have way too many IOT devices, multiple PC’s, NAS’s, and peripherals to think about changing my base IP. If you yourself have done this, you know that once you change the base IP, you can’t go back to reconfigure those devices that ONLY communicate via hard wire.With that said, I tried the Home Internet 5G Gateway/Router for a day, and I got decent 50-80MBs data speeds, good enough for home use. However, not being able to change the base IP (which is really unheard of for routers) left this device useless to me.The question, does anyone know of a WiFi Router that can use the Home Internet 5G Gateway/Router as a “modem”, then allow the new WiFi Router to set it’s own IP configuration?Where I live,

My old router messed up and I had to have a new one sent to me they sent me just the router and I had to use my old SIM card while I stick it in plug it up and it's not connecting can somebody tell me why

Will everyone get 5G modem?

When I signed up for T-Mobile internet, I received the white square modem. I now see where people are getting the tall cylinder 5G modems and was wondering if T-Mobile will eventually send me the 5G modem to replace the non 5G modem received. Has that happened for anyone? Tom

Home internet really slow and no 5g

I received my new 5G gateway Wednesday got it setup and did a speed test and saw I was getting 1mbs of download speed so I call support Thursday and they said I was connected to a good tower and (yes there is clean line of sight to the tower and I have 4 bars of signal) so they told be that the 5g chip in my modem has not activated yet so the schedule a time next week to call me back to give it time to activate. In the mean time I have to wait for this modem to pick up better service and deal with 1 to 3 mbs downloads speeds and hope by this following week something on t mobiles end actually starts working.

Excellent Speed in Brooklyn, NY so far

I have had my home internet service for a few days and just wanted to report my results so far. Day 1 - I live in a tiny 1st floor studio apartment in Brooklyn and had concerns about getting a good connection and speed.  My router is on a window sill getting 3 bars max.  When I conducted several speed tests, the results fluctuated wildly ranging from under 1Mbps to over 100Mbps.  Changing location didn’t help.  Most of the day, speeds were very slow.Day 2 - Significant improvement in speed ranging from 20 - 200MbpsDays 3 - 5 - Seeing consistent speeds of 200Mbps+.  Upload speeds in the 20-30Mbps range.   The most interesting part of this is that I am doing nothing to influence these changes.  My router has been in the exact same spot the entire time.  I am extremely happy with the current performance and hope it stays this way.  I am curious what others are experiencing in NYC.  I have some concerns about the long-term reliability.I use the Android T-Mobile app to check the tower stats

ethernet cable with home internet

How exactly do you use this ethernrt cable with the Home Internt?? Does it help with the strength of he signal? Do you plug it in a regular phone jack plug in the wall? Help!! I want to make sure I'm utilizing this equipment to best of its abilities.

My internet works fine for browsing and Netflix but when I try to watch live tv on espn app or mlb app it won’t work or even load. Also latency for gaming is horrible. Anyone else have same issue when trying to stream live tv through apps?

Slow 4G connection only, but only sometimes -- SOLVED

I’ve had the T mobile home internet 5G gateway for 6 days now and it has been generally thrilling to get such high speeds after being stuck on a single-digit overpriced DSL connection for 9 years. I often get download speeds of over 100 for long stretches of time, but for me, anything over 50 is great.So I’ve been reading a lot about this issue of how cellular connections work, since I just got a smartphone only last month. Although I’m not new to computers, and have been doing that for 50 years, starting with programming mainframes in college, but not as a profession. I was also on the internet starting in 1992.In my rural area I am 5 miles from the only tower I connect to regularly, and have a signal strength of either 2 bars or 3 bars, depending where I place the gateway. I used a free tower mapper app to know I connect to only one tower and find out exactly where it is located so I could better orient the gateway.However, I connect at three different band combinations, one which is

Home Internet and Online Gaming

I have had your home internet for almost a month now, and it has worked great for everything EXCEPT online gaming. The majority of my household games in some shape or form and this is a HUGE letdown. Especially since I was told by a rep that your internet works great for gaming. And looking at the forums, this has been a long standing issue. Gaming is huge and not having an internet service that fully supports it seems very short sighted. Is there going to be a fix for this at all in the near future?

slow speed on home internet

Just got the tower and installed it with ease. I’m getting a “very good” signal at best after I tried it in many different spots around my house. It’s working fine when I have only one device connected but as soon as add another one (my laptop) it slows down the overall speed on both devices quite a bit. I can’t imagine how slow it will be after I connect my other 4 home devices…any tips on how to improve or fix this issue with the connection/speed?

Home Internet not eligible for Emergency Broadband Benefit

So I went through the application process and got approved but now T-mobile is telling me that my home internet is not eligible for the benefit. What gives? Why have it on the page advertising it if their plan does not qualify? What does someone need to do to qualify? They are advertising that they are a part of this yet no one is having success in setting it up.

Do o really gave to wait an hour for Home Internet Customer Service?

This Home Internet service is getting more frustrating by the moment. I was consistently getting 1 mbps speeds so the service rep sent me a new gateway. The new gateway is worse than the old one (shows connected to the internet, but times out when I try to visit any website). Worst part of all of this - nearly every time I call the T-Mobile Home Internet Customer Service there is an hour long wait time. What’s the deal T-Mobile?  Is this going to work or not? …and before you send me the link for “internet issues” - I’ve already done everything on that list several times…

0% Battery, 5G21 Gateway

LOVE my new T-Mobile internet service BUT the chimney has been plugged in for 3 days and display still reads, “Battery 0%”.Does that mean it’s a defective unit or maybe no battery was installed?Speaking of battery, can you tell me what UPS units are compatible with the external UPS port on the T-Mobile hardware?Thanks!BobHe

Home Internet Gateway 2 Mbps

I’ve had the T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway for almost a month and most of the time it’s really slow. We get 5 Mbps down and 0.15 Mbps up from Frontier, so when I got 20 Mbps down and 20-30 Mbps I was thrilled. Then the cars and buses came. Sometimes during the day it can’t even connect to the speed test page, but usually it’s 2-3 Mbps. It’s getting slow at night now, tonight it’s 2.61 down and 0.49 up. I didn’t think anything could be slower than Frontier but this thing is.I live in a really small town in Arizona. We have one 5G cell tower and we sit on US93 and Pierce Ferry Rd the road to the Grand Canyon West. One million cars and tour buses go down Pierce Ferry Rd every year. Why can’t T-Mobile figure out we only have 2000 people here, but thousands a day go by using their phones. Do the math ten 40 passenger buses with 30 cars between each and everybody taking and sending videos. If you drive here drive carefully. We have one ambulance that covers 2000 sm’s and in April we had 28

5G 5G21-12W-A Gateway "Trashcan" Bridge Mode

I have purchased the 5G home internet and off the bat have issues with the “barebones” firmware on the Nokia 5G21-12W-A Gateway.  No ability to dictate port forwarding, enable UPNP, but more specifically turn it into a “dumb modem”.My home network needs the ability to put my Ubiquiti Edge Router in the DMZ(modem in bridge mode) so my OpenVPN server and Plex server can have public access.For the first couple weeks I kept my Ubiquity Router connected to fu*king ATT DSL and only put a few devices on the T-MOB GW.  It was pretty unpredictable and unstable.  The last 3 days its been stable with 300Mbps down, and 20+Mbps up and below 50ms ping times.   So on a Sunday with everyone home, I did it. Plugged it in and changed the DNS servers on my Ubiquity DHCP.  IT SH*T THE BED!  It couldn’t handle the throughput.  From my desktop I was running continuous pings to my pubic web server and google.com.  Separately they would become unreachable or timeout, not in succession but at different times.
