I am getting what I pay for, but it could be so much more. Enable the ability to disable the WiFi 6 RF so that users can use it as only an ISP modem. For those of us who only want the service but have their own hardware like routers/firewalls/extenders/mesh’s etc…I LOVE that I was able to get rid of XFINITY so thank you so much but the user should have control of the hardware if they want to...inside there home.I appreciate that you guys provide a wireless router as well for everyone but it should not be too hard to also let users have some function control of what is broadcasted inside their home. (without going beyond the engineering) Happy customer, hopeful for the future V/rCC
I switched to T-Mobile ISP a week back and only reason for that was couple of pretty good offers. From the time I switched I honestly was regretting as I was facing DNS issues with a few websites and sometimes my work VPN too. It will not be able to reach a few websites for a few minutes and then it would just work like nothing happened. Initially I could not understand what can cause this but then it occurred to me that it must be DNS issue. To my horror, I realized that DNS (and in fact even many basic settings) can not be configured on this T-Mobile gateway. I was facing this issue on a macbook, everything else just worked fine so I then thought of seeing what my macbook was using. It showed local network configured as DNS server, I removed that and added cloudflare’s DNS 184.108.40.206. That has fixed my problem. In short: If you are facing trouble in reaching some websites periodically and this is happening only on a few devices then try switching DNS on your device to 220.127.116.11 or some ot
Just started with 5G home internet. Everything worked great until I tried to use our old wireless printer, which only supports 2.4G. There is just enough of a signal for the printer to find it and verify the wifi password, but the signal is not good enough to do any real work, and the printer refuses to connect. After an hour and a half of waiting on hold and being told that an “expert” would solve my problems, T-Mobile “support” blamed the printer. So I did a bit of research on routers and learned that dual band routers, which support 5G and 2.4G, frequently have the 2.4G band turned off to enhance 5G performance. I’m wondering if that happened to my router (or actually that the signal is weakened in my case). I can’t find any documentation on the so-called gateway or any interface to activate both bands or even query the status.Any suggestions would be appreciated.Houyhnhnm
I am on my third KVD21 5G gateway. I have spent hours on the phone with T Mobile technical support and searching this forum for solutions. I easily see that I am not the only one with dropped internet connections and decreased download speeds from around 100mps to less than 30mps. When it’s working it, it is great; when it’s not it makes my relatively slow DSL connection (which I am hanging on to for now) look good. We cannot reliably watch a streaming TV show without interruption because of the Gateway losing all internet connectivity, despite a good 5G signal. in perusing this forum, I am far from the only one experiencing these problems. I am nearly at the point of canceling service and sending their Gateway back to them. Where is Technical Support? Why are they hiding from this forum and not sharing what is being done to fix the problems identified in these discussions? I am ready to throw my hands up.
I’ve been given specific requirements to set up work from home internet. My company says I must have a separate dedicated Single or 4 Port WIRED Internet modem or Router that will not have any wifi activity on it. Must have non public/Dynamic IP address. I will be using VPN I am not tech knowledgable and the Tmobile rep I spoke to doesn’t understand what I am asking. Please explain to me what I need to do? I think I have to get a router, connect that to the TM Gateway, then plug in the ethernet cable from computer to the router? Can my personal devices ie Ipad, Iphone and Roku can still access wifi through the TM Gateway? Help!
I have been having some packet losses and unstable VPN connections recently. WHen I traced the route to a website it seems to hang up before it leaves my gateway. Once it leaves it seems to do fine but im sure this issue is causing my disconnection problems. Anyone run into this before? I called tech support but they didn’t have any options other than restarting or swapping out the gateway. THis happens with any ip address or website I test. I’m using the Arcaydian. When I started my service I paid for services up front. I got behind 1x and my bill is $50 reconnect is $20. Says so on the email. Called to pay on automated it was then charging $38. I asked to talk with a representative the representative apologized took off the $20 fee for the trouble-appreciated. Then was told I owed $99 because of billing schedule! It is $50 a month for services that when bill is paid it's paid for up coming month because I paid $50 from first month services on up to current. I come home to find I was shut off for non-payment! Is anyone else having this problem of over charges and their billing schedules?
My HP 5514 PhotoSmart printert is not working with my new TMO Gateway. It worked fine with the AT&T Pace router I had previous to TMO. My HP printer display says it actually is connected to the TMO network once I select the SSID and key in the password on the printer console. But when I view Windows 11 Printers/Devices, the printer shows up as offline. If I try to set up a new network printer, Windows 11 cannot find the printer. Any insight you can provide on this issue would be appreciated. LD
