Where is the WPS push-button join feature for the 5G Home Internet gateway? There is no button on the body of the gateway and I’ve looked on the gateway’s screen, in the phone app and in the web browser interface. I don’t see any hint of an “accept join request” action. My printer is having difficulty joining the wifi network so I’m using it via ethernet cable, meaning I can’t move the gateway out of the same room. It would also be so much easier to join all my other devices that don’t have a keypad to enter the password like my bathroom scale, Filimin, etc. Every device has a separate management web portal. Annoying.
For the past four days, we’ve had issues with not being able to access certain websites, including almost all google services (including gmail and youtube), cnn, as well as my work (no income != no good). I’ve tried all variety of fixes, the only thing that works is to run the connection through a VPN. Everything works find then. This narrows it down to an IP/DNS issue on T-Mobile’s end. What gives? Who do I contact to get this fixed?
I am a recent convert to T-Mobile Home Internet Service. I am using the router the T-Mobile High-Speed Internet Gateway [model 5G21-12W-A]. I am using it as directed (i.e. I have not configured it in any special way using the GUI). Everything is great so far. I am able to connect to my two computers, SmartTV, iPhone and iPad.I am having difficulty staying connected to the following devices:Google Items: 1) Google Nest Hub (1st Gen); 2) Google Nest Mini Speaker; and 3) a Google Chromecast (actually, now that I think of it, this one has remained connected). Amazon Items: 1) Amazon Echo Show 5; and 2) two Echo Dots (Third Generation). And I am having difficulty staying connected to the following two other items:WYZE camera (1st Gen) WIZ Smart plugs (two of them)I live in a 100 unit apartment complex and according to a T-Mobile tech, I am w/in spitting distance from the T-Mobile tower that is delivering my signal (any amazing speeds substantiate that).
It is so annoying that everytime I log into bank sites and other sites I have to keep telling the site this is a trusted internet. Guess that is what mobile internet does. I also don’t like that this router hates Google devices. Tmobile thinks there is no problem with them but clearly they are wrong. For now I have my mesh router running so the google devices are fine. Bottom line is when fiber becomes available in my area i am going to grab it and let this go. it is nice and fast, but not stable.
I was an early home internet subscriber. Used the white box for a year and was quite satisfied with avg of 50mbps. Several weeks ago my roku started buffering a bit too much. After several calls, trying to translate whatever language tech support was speaking, I decided to upgrade to high speed gateway box. Still have way too much buffering from various streaming services. Decided to upgrade to a mesh wifi to eliminate any WIFI problem. So now I get 866mbps to gateway, but … avg of 5 to 10mbps internet download. Has TMobile sold more of this service than they can support? I see that they advertise 25mb now, instead of the original 50mbps. So, I’m paying for what I thought was 50mbps and getting 5mbps. Long ago I cut the cord and now it’s looking like I have to go back to cable co. to get expensive internet.
Hi all, I was thrilled to receive Tmo’s Home internet. Pretty cool technology getting 100 down and 5 up at one location in my house. In another spot in my house I get between 30 and 50 down and around 15-20 up. Latency and speed seem good. We get 2-3 bars not great but acceptable. My issue is our ATT phones and vonage boxes no longer ring in and calling out is impacted. We live in a rural area and utilize wifi calling. I believe the “trash can” is messing with the vpn tunnels these devices use. Right now the I have a router with my old and new provider connected. I was hoping to use the “trash can” as my primary internet but with wifi calling and vonage broken I had to switch back to my old provider. I called tmo support but the person wasn’t very helpful and seemed to lack knowledge on the product. All I got from her was that there are updates to 5g planned for my area and a new tower under construction. Has anyone found a solution to voip and wifi calling issues? Any word
There is a new firmware update available for the Apple TV 4K. When I attempt to update the firmware, I get an Unable to Update at this time error. Restarted the Apple TV several times. Checked the network connection. Still unable to update.I have not yet disconnected my Mediacom Cable Modem so I moved the ethernet cable from the T-Mobile Gateway to the Cable Modem. Restarted the Apple TV and attempted update. Firmware download immediately began. So why can’t the Apple TV download firmware when connected to T-Mobile Internet?
My old setup consisted of a cable modem connected to a router. I would like to continue using my router (and mesh router system that I plan to upgrade to in the very near future). How do I connect a router to the T-Mobile LTE Wi-Fi Gateway? Is it possible?I’ve tried turning of Wi-Fi in the gateway and have connected one of the ethernet ports on the back of the gateway to the WAN port on my router, but I cannot connect to the internet. Are there settings that need to be changed? Or, is it just not possible?
We’ve had T-Mobile home internet for a week now with the 4G/5G device. Overall it’s been very good once we found the best place in our home for the modem. One issue that is consistent is some web sites simply don’t function on this service. I haven’t canceled my cable service yet so when I simply switch over to that WIFI these sites work perfectly.Spotify.com - the web player page simply will not load.Facebook.com - The profile will load fine but the notifications will not load. The above are constant, as in never work, but once I switch over to cable they’re just fine.ESPN.com - the scores pages and top bar rarely work, but do once in a while.photos.google.com - Again, on occasion the page does work, but more often than not it doesn’t.In both of the above cases they work fine through my cable internet. Also, the same issues are present on my computer (laptop running Ubuntu), Galaxy Note 10+, and Galaxy Tab S7. And all issues disappear on cable internet on all devices so this is clearly
Just went over to Youtube TV, like the Discovery Plus App it needs a lot of work. The live stream freezes just 5 minutes after you start watching. Also since the app is going away i hope Tmobile plans on redirecting the three red buttons on the remote to function with Youtube TV. It would only make since. Right now my Roku TV is running Youtube TV a lot better. Tell me i didnt waste my money
What is the official T-Mobile Home Internet uptime SLA? I have been experiencing daily internet disconnects and disruptions to service, 10+ times between 9a-5p work hours when needing to work from home, and then multiple times through the evening as well. I have spent literal days’ worth of my time repeatedly troubleshooting this with support, have had multiple tickets created, have asked repeatedly to have this issue escalated and resolved. Nothing has happened. This is a complete failure of service, and I would like to know what official steps of escalation and resolution are available because, whatever the SLA is for Home Internet, T-Mobile is not meeting that SLA.
I am unable to create a login due to the email address I signed up with being attached both to my t-mobile phone number and t-mobile home internet accounts. First of all this is ridiculous that both cannot be paid on my one login. Secondly, I have tried to create a new login with a different email address and it will not allow it due to my other email being the address I signed up with over the phone. I have spoken to 4-5 service reps, none could fix the issue, now it is escalated. This is insane though. I am not able to sign up for auto-pay to receive my 5 dollar credit. Why is this not a simple fix on their end? Hope somebody from support reads this so I can get this resolved. Thanks. I paid as a guest using my account number and it took my payment with absolutely no problem whatsoever.
I was told that upgrade was being worked on in my area and would be completed on April 20. Today is 21, I am seeing poor upstreaming only attaining .3 MBPS and that is no way to support video conversation. We are Deaf and can only communicate via video. I want to resort to chat support. No luck finding this. Now what is with dismal upstreaming. Generally it is poor overall.
New user of Home Internet. Very fast speed and reliability. Having one repeated problem. When I try to log in to AOL.Com on my pc - it often fails with network reset error. It takes multiple attempts to log in and enter password. It interrupts so often it requires me to change password and verify account with a code. This happens using multiple browsers. I don’t have any problem with other websites, and the Android AOL app works fine. Any idea what’s causing this?
So my signal strength for home internet went from excellent to poor. Called customer support and there is over a two hour wait. Last time, I dealt with them I got a call back 12 hours later… 2 AM. My phone has a great 5G connection, but LTE is sucking wind. Wish I had that 5G router I asked for months ago.
I have recently got the new 5g router and am trying out att tv because i can run 20 devices on the home network. It is set up for the host ip of 188.8.131.52. After a reboot of the router the host ip is now 184.108.40.206 and att no longer recognizes my networkas home? If I switch it too many times (4 times a year) I can only stream 3 devices. i ls there a way that t mobe can keep the 172 ip address static or change it back so i do not have to reset my home location again?
