Has anyone had any luck enabling it or finding a way to enable it? I just got it today and my Xbox is saying it’s not successful and I can’t find anyway to enable UPnP on this router.

I'm not sure why but can't view this

Can confirm this works and will need to be done daily as i believe the dhcp resets every 24 hours am having no issues with any devices including pc xbox and streaming

Any luck anyone?

Incase you are still having issues, the issue is the Xbox. It's not properly reading the NAT. Section "Test NAT type" repeatedly till it says NAT is open

It was definitely this, thanks a ton!

Okay personally i have xbox series x and it gives me moderate nat type and about the upnp but i dont have any in game issues at all its great connection i havent used party chat but i will try that today and see what goes on. I use it through ethernet to a 5 port ethernet switch to whatever devices i desire to connect with. If my party chat works and ill reply to confirm maybe its best to maybe or maybe not invest into a switch box. Ive recently been trying the internet and am pleased overall with the services it gives but on the downside it has no advanced settings but basic. Great product for your basic and average needs.

THIS IS THE ANSWER (according to Tech Support)

I called T-Mobile twice and with my dad’s help, we think we have the answer to the big question. I’ve had the same problems with my Xbox Series X; the internet works, but the NAT type is Strict and the UPnP is Not successful, and I keep getting kicked out of Xbox Live Party Chats, and also have had match-making issues. After being ping-ponged back and forth through tech support, we were told that the T Mobile 5G Gateway’s public IP address changes (sometimes often) because it could connect to different cell towers. Because of that, static IP address, UPnP, or NAT/Port forwarding, cannot be configured on T-Mobile’s 5G Gateways. Below is a link that the T-Mobile tech provided us. In the link below, the “Gaming” section specifically states that UPNP cannot be configured. It appears that for T-Mobile’s 5G Gateways, this will not likely be fixed. We have not researched any other options yet.

Amazing this is still an issue for over 2 years. We just switched to T-Mobile 5g home internet and I’m having the EXACT same problem. Everything in the house connects fine except my Xbox Series X and two Canon wifi printers that won’t connect at all - but those worked thru an wifi extender. The Xbox connects but won’t allow party chats and weirdly Xbox 360 compatible games - they’ll work fine for a few minutes then I’m booted out with an error message. I’ve tried the NAT type changes but it stays on “strict” - a few times I’ve gotten it to moderate and once to open once it tried playing I was booted out again as if nothing changed. My wife switched us to this madness to save a buck over our older ATT wifi but now Im missing it - it was slower but it worked fine. If anyone can find a permanent solution please share Im all ears.

Read my message above I responded.

On average how many times did it take you to switch it over?  Mines stuck on strict and I’ve tested it over and over.

It’s not working for me

I’ve been using T-mobile home internet for about a month now and have had a lot of problems playing on xbox live. I read somewhere on one of these forums that you need to go to your network settings on xbox and continuously “test again” the NAT type until the NAT type states “open”. At this point the UPnP should be enabled. My NAT type always ‘starts’ on moderate so I’m not sure if this will work if your NAT type is initially closed. This has been a very consistent solution for me as it has worked for me every time I play online. Unfortunately, you need to do this every time you turn on your xbox and want to play online - but it only takes 1-3 tries (20 seconds/test). I’m not sure if this fixes chats, etc. though.

Godspeed friends.

I can’t seem to connect my Xbox 1 at all. It worked fine for a few days and then it stopped connecting. Says it can’t connect yet everyones mobile devices, tvs and two laptops can but my sons gaming PC’s can not. I also use T-Mobile for my cell service and what a joke. I LITERALLY NEVER HAVE SERVICE anywhere which is unacceptable when your a mother of teenagers. Totally unreliable, don’t waste your time or money. I will be cancelling

Gotcha. Ive done that and yes after or mabey once of " Testing NAT type " it will say Open NAT Type and you can play perfectly fine, but it still doesnt fix the Xbox Live Party Chat function. and as soon as you join a party its stuck on " Connecting... " and then you automatically pop out of the party chat. and when you go back to network settings you'll see every single time it will go back to Moderate NAT type and give you that same Ol' UpNp message right under it. ): So in all reality I still believe its on T-Mobiles end. I even once talked to there "Specialist" or one of. And its like they didnt even understand what in world I was talking about. And said you need to upgrade to 100 GB Hotspot or use Tmobile Home internet. And i said thats not going to fix anything. Theres something on there end that lacks what other internet providers internet has. And Im starting to question it alot. I even read the fine print on there policy for home internet and it said that some streaming platforms or services may not be compatible or work. Meaning they have a weird, not true internet. But atleast they let you know right? IN VERY SMALL LETTERS. but its fast right? ........but it clearly isnt real internet. Its cellular internet. They need to make this more clear. The more research I do the more disappointed I get. Dont get me wrong I love T-Mobile. And im going to ride with them till the day I die. But I needed to tell the truth of what I know so far and atleast pass on the knowledge. But please correct me or reach out to me if theres any solution or if Im wrong. God bless everyone. Hope we dont have to keep going through this and hope my hard working every cent is worth it. Love you T-Mobile. No hard feelings. ❤️

I don't know if this will fix your problem, but I was having issues even getting my Xbox to work with this home internet. It would show me being connected but it said I wasn't online. Ended up going into my network settings on my Xbox, then went into advanced settings. There it showed IPv4 and IPv6 settings but nothing was showing up right (settings were showing 0's for IP addresses and things). So I selected IPv4 and then set it to "automatic" and that fixed my issues as everything automatically populated correctly almost immediately. I might have been having an issue as I renamed my T-Mobile gateway what my old Xfinity gateway was called so I didn't have to reconfigure all of my devices. Haven't had a chance to actually test it out online because it popped up with a message about needing an update on my Xbox key much right after, so it seems like everything is working at this point (at least it's connecting to the internet now).

Currently having no issues as I am using a USG that does all my routing. I do wish it gave me more features.

How are you using a USG with the T-Mobile service?  I looked into using my own router but couldn’t find any way to do so.  If you know how to make that happen for the rest of us, that would be a game-changer.

I am having the exact same issue with this and every time I click the link they provide to turn on the upnp it turns to a dead end.

I don’t know much about routers, but would it make a difference if we plugged the T-Mobile router into another router?

Same problem.  Just switched over to T-Mobile home internet.  Unable to get Xbox live chat to work; The network is showing UPnP not successful error.  Going to have to cancel and go back to Charter as it seems T-Mobile isn’t addressing this issue.

Im having this same issue. i really hope they fix this soon. does anyone who has the old white 1st gen modem has UPnP options or port forwarding options?

The old one has all the options - but they do not work.  This has been broken since the beginning.

Hopefully they fix this ASAP.
I would be very pleased with the home WiFi if they can fix this issue.

It's been 1.5 years for me - no fix yet, so don’t hold your breath.

I am also having the same issue i was able to fix it for about 3 days by doing the manual port setting in the xbox network settings. the party chat worked fine til i unplugged the router and now i cant fix it again. called support twice and they said this device comes with all ports open and does not support upnp and port forwarding is not accepted at this time. This internet would be great if they could just fix this issue. Sidenote it does not make any sense to me that i can use the xbox party chat on both my pc and my cell phone on the same internet but will crash on the xbox can someone please explain that to me.
