Has anyone had any luck enabling it or finding a way to enable it? I just got it today and my Xbox is saying it’s not successful and I can’t find anyway to enable UPnP on this router.

I’m having the same  issue I’ve had it for 2 days. I can play online perfectly fine but when i try to make party chats on Xbox it crashes. I wanted to find the port forwarding and upnp fot the gateway but I can’t seem to find it too,

That’s weird, i get NAT type moderate on my ps5, so hole punching should not be an issue. its unclear to me how xbox party chat wouldn’t function, unless your unit has a strict nat type for some reason (as most cellular modems do). my problem with the tmobile gateway is that it is too damn slow. my cricket (and the ATT that preceded) are much faster, because they have better coverage and stronger signal.

My NAT will switch from Moderate to open randomly and it will not show the upnp issues when it's open. Like I said before I can game online perfectly fine and in-game chats work. But when I try xbox party chat it'll crash the chat, Microsoft support said it could be the port forwarding. That's why I want to know if there is a way to access it.

Yup same problem, I join an Xbox party and it says I’m in there and suddenly it’ll crash and say there was a network issue..

I don’t know why T-Mobile wouldn’t add the advance settings for the supposedly “ new and improved “ router but the old one does.
if I can’t get that UPnP enabled then I’m gonna have to cancel service with them! That’s ridiculous that it’s not even enabled by default.

And my NAT type is always at moderate as that UPnP not being supported keeps it at that.

I just want to be able to port forward and enable upnp. It is a better upgrade for me since I had satellite internet and I couldn't even game online with it. The data didn't even last 3 days thanks to game updates. So this new home internet is great. Like I said just looking for the option to port forward and enable upnp and NAT.

For now I'm using the xbox app on my phone for party chats. I got an Elgato chat link cable and I can hear the game off the controller and still chat in the party on my phone with my gaming headset. It's a little ridiculous but it works.

Hopefully they fix this ASAP.
I would be very pleased with the home WiFi if they can fix this issue.

Yea I hope so too.

Also experiencing all of the above, I can deal with no party chat but it is very annoying. This is a huge step up from our crappy Hotspot we had so can't complain too much. But I would love it it tmobile would add the advanced settings to the gateway.

I just got mine 3 days ago and have the same issues. The settings are nearly non existent, no port mapping, upnp, dhcp reservations...I can't remote desktop connect from work back home with no port forwarding, none of my security camera show up anymore on my phone for probably the same reason, MySQL database won't connect....I was thinking the T-Mobile home internet was real internet, it seems to just a big hotspot, for getting your laptop on Facebook or watching Netflix. I'm 3 days into it and not sure I will keep it. On top of that the speed is unreliable, first day I was getting 30-45mbps, today 8-15mbps. May as well keep my slow DSL, at least everything worked on it.

Im having this same issue. i really hope they fix this soon. does anyone who has the old white 1st gen modem has UPnP options or port forwarding options?

Has anyone had any luck enabling it or finding a way to enable it? I just got it today and my Xbox is saying it’s not successful and I can’t find anyway to enable UPnP on this router.

I am also having the same issue i was able to fix it for about 3 days by doing the manual port setting in the xbox network settings. the party chat worked fine til i unplugged the router and now i cant fix it again. called support twice and they said this device comes with all ports open and does not support upnp and port forwarding is not accepted at this time. This internet would be great if they could just fix this issue. Sidenote it does not make any sense to me that i can use the xbox party chat on both my pc and my cell phone on the same internet but will crash on the xbox can someone please explain that to me.

It's been 1.5 years for me - no fix yet, so don’t hold your breath.

The old one has all the options - but they do not work.  This has been broken since the beginning.

Same problem.  Just switched over to T-Mobile home internet.  Unable to get Xbox live chat to work; The network is showing UPnP not successful error.  Going to have to cancel and go back to Charter as it seems T-Mobile isn’t addressing this issue.

Currently having no issues as I am using a USG that does all my routing. I do wish it gave me more features.

I don’t know much about routers, but would it make a difference if we plugged the T-Mobile router into another router?

I am having the exact same issue with this and every time I click the link they provide to turn on the upnp it turns to a dead end.

How are you using a USG with the T-Mobile service?  I looked into using my own router but couldn’t find any way to do so.  If you know how to make that happen for the rest of us, that would be a game-changer.

I don't know if this will fix your problem, but I was having issues even getting my Xbox to work with this home internet. It would show me being connected but it said I wasn't online. Ended up going into my network settings on my Xbox, then went into advanced settings. There it showed IPv4 and IPv6 settings but nothing was showing up right (settings were showing 0's for IP addresses and things). So I selected IPv4 and then set it to "automatic" and that fixed my issues as everything automatically populated correctly almost immediately. I might have been having an issue as I renamed my T-Mobile gateway what my old Xfinity gateway was called so I didn't have to reconfigure all of my devices. Haven't had a chance to actually test it out online because it popped up with a message about needing an update on my Xbox key much right after, so it seems like everything is working at this point (at least it's connecting to the internet now).

Here’s what I wrote it should help everyone!

Any luck anyone?

Any luck anyone?

Incase you are still having issues, the issue is the Xbox. It's not properly reading the NAT. Section "Test NAT type" repeatedly till it says NAT is open

Gotcha. Ive done that and yes after or mabey once of " Testing NAT type " it will say Open NAT Type and you can play perfectly fine, but it still doesnt fix the Xbox Live Party Chat function. and as soon as you join a party its stuck on " Connecting... " and then you automatically pop out of the party chat. and when you go back to network settings you'll see every single time it will go back to Moderate NAT type and give you that same Ol' UpNp message right under it. ): So in all reality I still believe its on T-Mobiles end. I even once talked to there "Specialist" or one of. And its like they didnt even understand what in world I was talking about. And said you need to upgrade to 100 GB Hotspot or use Tmobile Home internet. And i said thats not going to fix anything. Theres something on there end that lacks what other internet providers internet has. And Im starting to question it alot. I even read the fine print on there policy for home internet and it said that some streaming platforms or services may not be compatible or work. Meaning they have a weird, not true internet. But atleast they let you know right? IN VERY SMALL LETTERS. but its fast right? ........but it clearly isnt real internet. Its cellular internet. They need to make this more clear. The more research I do the more disappointed I get. Dont get me wrong I love T-Mobile. And im going to ride with them till the day I die. But I needed to tell the truth of what I know so far and atleast pass on the knowledge. But please correct me or reach out to me if theres any solution or if Im wrong. God bless everyone. Hope we dont have to keep going through this and hope my hard working every cent is worth it. Love you T-Mobile. No hard feelings. ❤️
