I am hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

Yesterday I installed my new 5G router.

TLDR:

  1. My new Router gets 250-300 download and around 20 upload and up to 25 upload
  2. My old DSL (which is still active at my house is constantly 8 upload)
  3. Using wireless, my upload speed test is up to 25 mpbs
  4. But in actual use, the uploads to youtube I need to do take LONGER on T-Mobile than they do on the old DSL
  5. Using an ethernet cable from the T-Mobile gateway helps a LOT, but still seems inconsistent with connections starting fast, then tapering down.

IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP THIS?

Detailed Post Below

I am blessed because I get some really great speeds when I test it online, meaning I am getting speeds as fast as 300mbps down and 23mbps up.

The problem is these do not translate into real world UPLOAD PERFORMANCE.

This might not matter to 95% of people, but I work online as a youtube content creator. My point of trying something new was to switch from CenturyLink DSL which gives me 80 down and 8 up.

This SHOULD cut the time to upload a typical 1.5 gigabyte video upload from 30 minutes to ten minutes (3x faster right?)

My uploads with T-Mobile to youtube are LONGER THAN MY OLD CONNECTION.

I cannot explain that at all.

My connection when tested is 3x FASTER than my old connection.

Using ethernet from the gateway helps, but things seem to get slower as the uploads are progressing

I am pretty technical. Are there any settings I can change with this?
