Physical SIM to eSIM and back

I have an unlocked Pixel 6 Pro on a T-Mobile Magenta plan. I currently have a physical SIM.

I there any reason not to change to an eSIM? I’ve read that when I travel internationally, I’ll be able to pop in my foreign physical SIM without risking losing my T-Mobile physical SIM, and I’ll be able to use both SIMs simultaneously.

What about if I ever want or need to go back to my T-Mobile physical SIM, for example if my phone ever dies and I need to use another, non-eSIM phone temporarily? Is it easy to switch back and forth between eSIM and physical SIM on T-Mobile? Will I be able to reuse my existing physical SIM and do it by self-service, or will I have to visit a store or order a new SIM by mail?

Can’t anyone help answer this question?

I know exactly what your talking about and am trying to find an answer myself.

Once a physical SIM is transferred to an electronic SIM or deactivated, the pSIM is no longer usable.  You can transfer the eSIM back to a pSIM but that will require a brand new pSIM card to do so.
