So I have a phone number I would like to port in to be used on my account; however, I don’t want to lose the number I currently have on my account because of 2FA in case I forget to update it somewhere, I don’t want to get locked out of some account because a 2FA code goes to my old number.  What I want to do is port in the number I want to use, maybe to a new line of service with a dummy IMEI on it and once it ports in, switch my phone  (and its installment bill) with the dummy IMEI so that my phone is then active on the new line with the new ported in number and then I want to port out my old number to Number Barn to park it in case I need to access the SMS from it.  Is this possible and is there any better way to do this?
