phone locked to Assurance wireless, need to activated on Tmobile in order to be unlocked

Can Tmobile help unlock my phone bought from Assurance wireless? My phone is qualified for unlocked, but I no longer has service with them as they told me it would be unlocked automatically which never happened. The phone is Moto G Pure, and it says it’s locked to Tmobile. Do I have to buy Tmoible service in order to have it unlocked.

did you put a TMO sim card into it when you were trying to see if the phone was unlocked or not?

I do not work for Tmobile and my suggestions and or opinions are my own**.~~~~ The site here is primarily peer to peer with some TMO moderation to keep the site in order..They do not have account access..The prefered method would be to contact TMO through either calling in (tier 1 support) or by contacting them through either Facebook/Twitter (tier 2 support)**~~~~

You should contact Assurance wireless since Tmobile can only unlock phones they sell.
