My normal data usage is about 1 Gb a month. When I travelled for 24 days in Italy this month my usage was almost 9 GBs. This happens every time I travel. To conserve, I turn off cellular when I’m not using it, close out apps regularly. Help. What is causing this?

Depending on the type of device you have. What it does in the background that isn’t counted on the device can differ. What T-Mobile counts towards your data usage might also vary from what the roaming carrier counts towards your data usage that they pass on to T-Mobile.
