I recently switched to T-mobile. When I turn on the phone it says T-mobile on the left upper corner, however when I check settings Verizon is still listed as primary carrier. Is this the way it should be?

View originalThank you. It was the eSIM. All fixed. Mystery solved!
It kind of sounds like the port either hasn’t fully completed or there is an issue with the eSIM. Is your Verizon eSIM still saved? You might want to delete or at the very least, disable it.
What in the settings is still listing Verizon as the Primary carrier? If you purchased your device from Verizon, it will still retain it's Verizon firmware. What device are you using?
It’s a iPhone 14, bought from Verizon. I went to Settings, then General, the About.
List under Primary shows Network “unavailable” and Carrier “Verizon”.
Listed under Business is “T-Mobile” and Carrier is T-Mobile.
Thanks!
PS my outgoing calls fail. I can’t use my phone for phone calls.
