Activating SIM card on replacement for lost phone

So I lost my phone, blocked the device, and was able to file a claim to get a new one. However, when I go to activate my SIM, it wants to send a text verification to my phone number. Obviously, this won’t work as I had lost my phone and am trying to activate the replacement SIM card. Is there anyway to fix this? Or do I need to bring my replacement phone into a Tmobile store and have them activate it there?

The sim card is tied to your phone number so as long as the new sim is in the phone you should get the text message to activate the sim.
