My daughter when to Whitewater University Zip Code 53190.

Coverage sucks! we were unable to call from deferent locations!

How we are suppose to talk!

Rest providers do not have a problem as T-Mobile!

Before I will switch my family is T-Mobile able provide better service?

Another example of T-Mobile's not paying adequate attention to smallish college towns that have an impact way out of proportion to their nominal populations.

Whitewater, WI appears to be served by a single tower running only mid-band. US Cellular owns the band-12 license in that market and it will be mid-October before several OTA TV stations clear the band so that T-Mobile can deploy their 600 MHz (band-71) licenses.

Have you tried roaming USCC there? What phones do you use?

iPhone 6

Lumia 640

Lumia 1020

Part of the problem is with your phones. None of the phones has 71. The iPhone 6 does not have band-12. I'm not sure about the Lumia 1020 because there are several models of that phone. I'm not saying that having newer phones would fix the issue right now, but it might help in a few months.

Are you on some sort of family plan? Are the phones unlocked? If T-Mobile wasn't meeting my needs, I wouldn't hang around waiting for them to get better. You might consider switching to another carrier/MVNO. Cricket is pretty economical as long as you don't travel abroad very often. They use AT&T's signals.

Do you know anyone else with Tmobile in that area?

Those are all older phones just to make sure it's the coverage and not the phone.

Maybe WiFi Calling could help you keep in touch? 😉 One of the best Tmo perks!

I just took a look at that location and the coverage is pretty sparse 😥 I am also not seeing any immediate enhancements to the area. While we would love to have your business, we would not want you to have a poor experience.

I am in new york city / jersey city and the reception is absolutely horrible both at home and at work. I am in the zip code 07311, and work near 10282, and in both locations, calls frequently drop, to the point where the cell phone service is practically unusable.

I can't wait to transfer to another company, this is horrendous and not worth it even if Tmobile paid me to use their service.

What phone are you using?

My service is horrible too, my wife will be sitting next to me and her phone works but mine doesn’t, then it will the opposite the next day. Calls cut in and out. We both have the exact same phone, we both lose service frequently everyday. Phones say LTE and show full bars but nothing loads. I switched from Verizon a while back and it was a huge mistake. I honestly didn’t believe that in 2021 that there were any providers with this horrible of service. I live I in area code 89706. They have swapped out our phones multiple times for different models and claim that we should have great service but my internet doesn’t work at least half the time. I have never experienced such shorty service, can’t wait to pay off these phones or find another carrier that will pay them off so I can say goodbye to T-Mobile

Yes T-Mobile’s coverage sucks. HOWEVER, before you change providers you need to know about any financial responsibility you might have.
In my case, we switched to T-Mobile about 4 months ago based on price and the false advertising regarding T-Mobile being a superior provider.
We traded in two IPhone (8’s I think) and got new IPhone 12’s. The way the deal works is we pay about $80 a month for the new Iphone12’s and get about $60 credit for our trade-ins.

Now the big GOTCHA!!!

if I leave T-Mobile now and go to another provider I have to pay T-Mobile $1,666.62 for the new IPhone 12’s and the credit I was receiving for my old trade-ins vanishes. No options to give back these phones or get any credit towards that amount for the two phones I traded in.
YES, T-MOBILE SUCKS 100%

in all fairness, I must add that I have spoken to some of the most understanding and helpful Customer Service Rep’s and Technicians I have ever encountered. Unfortunately they do not and cannot change corporate policy.

out of curiosity..which carrier will let you be with them for 4 months and then just let you up and turn everything back in no big deal?

So returning the phones and walking away is not an option for me. If it were, I would have taken it and kept my mouth shut.

Hello...my zip code is 78748 and calls are intermittent with data messages taking about a minute to go through. Fortunately we have att Wi-Fi at home so as long as in home it's good. As soon as I leave I'm unreachable. I work in 78701 and the coverage is exactly the same. Is anyone else having this issue? Is T-Mobile that bad?

You do realize that T-Mobile does have the Moto Edge 2022 (which has B2/B4/B12/B41/B66/B71 LTE + 5G ) basically for ‘free’ assuming you keep the service.

Similarly, these do offer WiFi calling.

Those 2G bands are rare, 3G is gone, and all but your one device doesn’t have low band (good for rural) B12 or B71.  B17 ‘might’ overlap with B12 - but you’d have to verify that one.

no. however you will need to either call in to TMO or contact them through one of their social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter and have them put in a network ticket for you.
