it’ll also depend on if you are on any promo that must go for a certain amount of time..credits for a certain deal over a certain amount of time...if you are on anything like that you’ll have to pay off whatever is left over.
I’ve returned gateways more than once through T-Mobile. (4G LTE home gateway + 5G Arcadyan) - no charge.

Appears you will be charged, whether you return the gateway, or not.
Only if you fail to return the gateway; on canceling ensure they send a return label and instructions, keep receipts and track return.
