why does my autopay keep changing

Basically the title. 

 

A few months, our due date got changed and we ended up being "late" to pay. We chocked it up to being moved from sprint to tmob.

So we set up autopay to prevent that. It's supposed to be set to the 23rd of every month but this month, the payment was taken today (12.21). 

 

I can't have this keep happening. I don't really want to call and I dont have SM to ask, so hopefully someone here can help. Is this common? Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

 

I barely had enough to cover and now I won't be able to buy dinner until I get paid Friday 😩
