getting notice to update phone

I pick up phone and the screen displays upgrade phone.  When I phone T-Mobile to see if they are the ones telling me to upgrade, T-Mobile says that I need to go to my T-Mobile online page and take care of that question there.  I don’t see any resolution on the T-Mobile website I logged into.  So my question is, why does the agent say not to telephone but to go to the log-in website when I phone T-Mobile?

Entered my question several hours ago and still no responses.  Using this means for a resolution to a problem is unsuccessful waste of time.

This isbasicslly a user to user forum. What type of phone and is it app updates or a security update?

If it's an OS update there's a link for that to check.

Most updates aren't pushed by the carrier.
