I just received my unlocked S21 Ultra from Samsung. Using the stock messaging app RCS is not working. Is this a limitation of an unlocked phone? Are there any workarounds or plans to fix this in the future?
I use the Google Messages app and it supports RCS perfectly on my unlocked S21 Ultra. It’s a lot better than the stock messages app anyways for things like stock replies based on the content of the incoming messages. In addition, you can goto messages.google.com to read/send all your text messages if you want to.

Samsung has broken a lot of stuff over the past year. It will probably get fixed at some point but that probably won't be for quite some time. RCS is much lower down the list of things to be concerned with because texting still works fine.
As mentioned, Google's Android Messages will work fine until Samsung gets their act together.
