I have had the Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite tablet since January 20 and only recently tried to use the camera.

The camera will not open. I tried other camera apps and did a factory restore of the tablet. The base app doesn’t open. The downloaded app would open but show a camera error. Running a diagnostic shows there’s an issue with the camera (front and back) but offers no solution.

Am I out of luck?

If the tablet is under warranty, you could always reach out to the manufacturer for  warranty service.  If you have purchased it within the last 14 days, you could exchange it.  If you have insurance on it.  You should be able to file an insurance replacement for it within your my.t-mobile.com account.
