Non metered connection? There's no real metered connection, unless you're one the ‘lite’ connection, and that's because the area doesn't have the infra to support the volume of data.
I typically use 400GB on home internet
If referring to Windows displaying the connection as metered, it’s a Windows setting for each network connection and varies by version. A google search on “metered connection Windows x” where x is your windows version, will point you in the proper direction.

Setting a metered/un-metered connection does change both WIndows and Windows app data usage behavior.
