I recently switched to Mint and have low-to-no coverage in 24055. I’m considering switching to T-Mobile but then I learned Mint uses the same towers as T-Mobile, etc. Would my coverage be the same as it is with Mint Mobile with T-Mobile?

Yes and no. Mint may use T-Mobile.towers but they aren't always accessing the best available bands and technologies deployed on those towers. The best way to find out for sure though, would be to grab the cheapest T-Mobile prepaid SIM you can find and try it in your device.
Your device might also be why your experience on Mint isn't great. What device are you using and was it purchased from T-Mobile? BYOD's are now required to have compatible VoLTE with T-Mobile's network to use T-Mobile's service.
