We will be traveling in Europe for 3 months. T-Mobile says it’s international plan of unlimited free data and texting and $.25 calling is not for extended durations. Any info on whether 3 months will be covered? Do I need to instead purchase the monthly high speed plans?

The majority of your usage must be on the T-Mobile USA network.  Extended roaming warnings can trigger from heavy use during long periods of time off of the T-Monile network.  You should severelyinimize your off network usage while away and use WiFi with WiFi Calling enabled as much as you can.  Purchasing roaming packages will not change this.  It is purely based on your time spent roaming and usage during that time roaming.

The best way to avoid the excess roaming trap is to get a 2nd SIM or eSIM for an international or local carrier and make that your data link. With some phones, it’s possible to run your T-Mobile account as if it were on WIFi using this system. People do this with newer iPhones but I’m not clear on the details. It’s important to make sure that your phone is SIM-unlocked for this to work.
