I am traveling to Africa next month. I have phone service in South Africa but won’t have it in Mozambique. I was advised to get a sim card when arriving. I really don’t need phone service because I will be with someone who does have phone service. Will I be able to text from Mozambique?

I have the Magenta 55+ service. My phone will work in South Africa but not in Mozambique. I was advised to get a new sim card but that will change my phone number. I don’t really have to have phone service in Mozambique but I would like to be able to text. I can’t get a straight answer on that. Thanks for any help you can give me.

If you have access to wifi you should be able to get your sms if you have no other option.
