Two questions about 55+ plans

Two questions in one:

1) Why do I have to prove that I am over 55 when that data is already in the T-Mobile system?  

2) If I do have to do so, can I just verify that I am over 55 online so that I can compare plans myself?  I am not ready to switch today.

If you're a current subscriber you shouldn't have to verify, I didn't.

You can compare your plans from your Mytmobile account just don't proceed with the change.

hmmm . . . . I don’t get those options when I compare plans at https://my.t-mobile.com/account/change-plan/plan-comparison.  I get these options only:

Is the PAH over 55? You can go to the Tmobile site without signing in to check the rates.

What plan are you currently on?
