As a new T-Mobile user myself I am no expert. But two thoughts:1. Some new phones support eSim, meaning they no longer need a physical SIM card to be activated. Read more here: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/sim-esim2. If you have access to a local brick and mortar T-Mobile shop, you should be able to get a SIM card if needed, and they can ensure it is activated properly. Hope this info is helpful.Regards,James
