I have the option of exchanging my Aradyan gateway for a Sagemcom. Which is a better gateway for the home internet?I was given this opportunity when this past weekend, we suddenly started having very bad speeds (although this for now seems to have resolved and is somewhat back to normal or at least back to an acceptable level).
I’m wondering if the way I’ve setup my network needs to be different. This is my current setup (all wired connection):T-Mobile gateway — Linksys mesh router — Apple TV —The mesh router broadcasts the WiFi signal that allows 2 phones, 3 iPads, 2 computers, 2 watches, and 1 thermostat to connect to internet. The Apple TV also acts as a Home Hub mainly the thermostatI wonder if I should change to the following setup or does it not matter (all wired)T-Mobile gateway — Apple TV — Linksys mesh router — Essentially the difference is should I connect the Apple TV directly to the gateway or should I connect the Linksys directly to the gateway?
Is there a better way to report home internet service trouble besides a time consuming phone call? I am 100% certain that the issue is not with our gateway or any personal equipment. Over the past two days, we have seen download speeds that average about 1 to 1.5 Mbps and upload speeds that are even less. Today, the download speed is back to normal, about 151 Mbps, but the upload speed is still pretty bad at around 1 Mbps. We’ve had T-Mobile home internet for several months and it’s been typically good until these past two or three days. I did call up T-Mobile and they did have their engineers look in to it. That said, when download speed is good but upload speed is bad, how do I report this (other than phone call) and why would there be such a drastic difference? I don’t expect the upload speed to be very high, but definitely better than 1 Mbps. I expect it to be say around at least 5 to 8 Mbps.
