Vizio Tv Connection Issues with Home Internet

I just received my t-mobile home internet all of my devices work with the router except my Vizio TV. I can connect to the network but it won’t allow internet access. I have tried making separate networks for 2.4 or 5GHZ but neither seem to work. I still have my Spectrum internet with my old router and the TV connects just fine to that network. Any suggestions on what I need to do? I was really hoping the home internet was going to work out for me but if I can’t connect my TV this might be a deal breaker.

Home Internet IP address madness.

I figured I could simply set the gateway IP, SSID, and password exactly the same as my old DSL modem, but nooo, first T-Mobile says my old password is too short...Is there a way to change the gateway IP address from 192.168.12.1 to 192.168.0.1? The first time I turned the gateway on and configured it, I’m certain it not only asked me for the SSID and WiFi password I wanted, and the admin password I wanted, but also the gateway IP address.I then went to my office next to my house and reconfigured my wireless repeater-bridge (thanks to the T-Mobile gateway insisting I couldn’t use the WiFi password I had been using) and I set it up to use 192.168.0.1 as its gateway and DNS server, with the SSID and password I’d assigned. I assigned the repeater-bridge the IP address 192.168.0.2 and the end IP to 254 (instead of the default 24) because I put my wired printer and media server connected to it at high numbers.Saved the settings in the repeater-bridge and my desktop (wired connection to it) h

As a Nintendo Switch owner, this Pokemon issue is stupid

Hey all first time poster, recently been playing a lot more Pokémon on my Nintendo switch. Specifically Pokémon shield, in which I have been attempting to play Dynamax Adventures. For whatever reason, that part of the game does not work with my home internet router. Every time I’d try to join another person via link code, or try to join randoms using the “invite others” function, I’d be stuck at “Communicating Please stand by” ad infinitum. After EVERY TROUBLESHOOT, calling both Nintendo and T-Mobile MULTIPLE times I found that I could join others in the activity with my parent’s home internet service, NOT T-Mobile’s. This is an issue on T mobile’s part and I know I’m not the only one with this issue. Please fix or consider finding a replacement for a subscription buyer.

Wireless Printer Set up

Hello community.  I am trying to connect my wireless printer. The wireless installation asks for a WPA key. Since I don’t have a WPS button on my gateway, how would I find this key? My gateway has a WiFi key on the label.  Would this be it?  I’ve tried that number and it will not work.  Thank you!

G4AR firmware upgrade to 1.00.12 results in frequent lost internet connection and reboots

I’ve had the G4AR for a few months on 1.00.09 and it has worked fantastically.  Firmware update at 3am 2 days ago to 1.00.12 now results in frequent lost internet connection and reboots (6 today!).  I’ve factory reset the device with no improvement.  Clearly this was caused by the firmware update and am wondering if there is a fix now or I want to make sure Tmobile tech support is aware their firmware update has crippled some devices.

WARNING!!! Aug 8, 2024 - Potential Flaws in G4AR 5G Gateway Firmware Update v1.00.09 Related to External Antenna Use

T-Mobile has recently updated the TMO-G4AR 5G Gateway firmware from v1.00.02 to v1.00.09.  Firmware updates are automatically performed between the hours of 1:00 am and 3:00 am and occur at different times in different regions over a period of weeks or months.  I cannot confirm the exact date my firmware was switched from v1.00.02 to v1.00.09 but based on extremely poor performance of my internet connection suddenly beginning on or about July 21, 2024, I would say that's when the firmware was updated.  My first assumption was that the tower serving my internet connection was undergoing maintenance or improvements.   My T-Mobile internet service began in November 2023.  My location is near the bottom of a foothill canyon with sloping hillsides obscuring direct line of site to T-Mobile service towers.  It was absolutely necessary to install a several-hundred-dollar external 4G/5G internet antenna which provided sufficient T-Mobile 5G 2-bar (weak) reception at my location.  The 2-bar 5G r

Unable to update the device at this time

When I try to add a schedule for a mobile device in the tmobile internet app I receive the error "Unable to update the device at this time". I get this error for both Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices. I have tried reinstalling the app and restarting the home internet gateway. When will this be fixed?

Sep 10, 2024 - First Experiences with New G4AR v1.00.12 Firmware Update Compared to v1.00.09 Firmware Problems

Yesterday my G4AR Gateway firmware was newly updated to v1.00.12 from v1.00.09 which presented problems with my external antenna and random internet disconnects.  V1.00.12 fixed the major problems resulting from v1.00.09.  I previously posted the experiences under the topic “WARNING!!! TLife app "Add Device" button disappeared

I set up my TMobile Home Internet via the TLife app and added 12 devices.Now I’d like to add a wireless printer but the “Add Device” button from the app disappearedI can’t do a manual add since the printer (Brother) restrict me to a 7 character password and TMobile requires 8 or more charactersI’ve had 2 conversations with the tech people and there is no answer as of yet Does anyone out there know of a solution?thanks in advance

I use the home internet gateway to work from home. I will be staying in St. Thomas for an extended period of time. Is there coverage there for the home internet gateway that will allow me to work remotely from home there as well?

MLB The Show does not work on my T-mobile 5g internet box.

MLB The Show does not work on my T-mobile 5g internet box. It will say “Challenge Failed” when trying to play an online match. The game works perfectly fine when i bring my xbox to my parents house. But when i bring it back to my wifi, it doesn’t work. I test the NAT type until it’s open, I reset the router, etc. I’ve done everything I can think of and there no solution. Does anyone have this same problem?  This is the only game that won’t work either. This and NBA 2k brought me some issues. But i can play COD or shooters on my wifi… but cross play sports games seem to bring the issue

Incorrect Location

When I am connected to my WIFI and I am using a site that shows my zipcode, it is never correct. Is this something that needs to be corrected? If so how do I do this? Also, I am thinking about getting a streaming service such as HULU< YOUTUBETV FUBO etc, if I do this do I use the zip code that it automatically puts in, or should I change it to the correct zip code? So many questions about this and not sure if I should continue to ignore it and correct it or just leave it alone.

Smart devices randomly go offline and back online from hour to hour

Have “Trashcan” version of T-Mobile Gateway attached to TP-Link M55 3 Mesh Router system. Suspect that CGNAT to NAT connections is causing smart device (WIFI) addressing issues to come and go from hour to hour on M55 Mesh Router.I have an Orbi 2 Unit Mesh router from our previous condo and have switched it into the system in place of the M55 router with similar addressing issues there also.We used the Orbi Mesh at the old condo with similar very occasional addressing issues.The new condo has double the square feet of the old and three times as many smart WIFI bulbs due to the fact that every light fixture in every room uses 3 bulbs instead of 1 bulb. And, I can often get 2 of the 3 bulbs in the same fixture working fine and one that is offline.I am using Google Home to manage everything. And when something goes offline I can sometimes fix it by going into the appropriate Govee or Feit or Tuya or Lumary app and finagling until it is found and online. (This works most often with Tuya dev

Honeywell wifi thermostat not able to connect

I have a Honeywell RTH6580WF thermostat which used to work through my Nokia 5G gateway but got disconnected a month or so ago and now cannot re-connect.  I’ve tried creating new 2.4 network, changing wifi passwords, not requiring a wifi password, hidden SSIDs.  Nothing.  Every other device, computer, phone connects just fine.  I can connect to the thermostat’s web interface, choose the wifi, enter the password and then the thermostat produces one of these error codes  E01, E02, and E42.  The thermostat manual and Honeywell support resources aren’t helpful.  Honeywell support suggests it could be that one of ports 443, 113, or 80 are blocked by the gateway or T-Mobile ISP.  I was told by Honeywell that if the thermostat can’t communicate with Honeywell servers during initial wifi setup, I would see one of these errors.   If anyone has had this issue and found a way to get your thermostat to connect, please share.  I’ve spent way too many hours on this.  Even bought 2 new thermostats and

Home internet headaches!

I had high hopes for the 5G Gateway as my friend had it with no issues for over a month with 500 mbbs download and up to 100 mbps upload. My experience has been terrible. The first 3 weeks (trial period) it was great; I was getting an average of 200 mbps download and 15 upload which was fine for my purposes. Then the speeds got slower. I added an omnidirectional external antenna and at first it seemed to help; more than doubled my speeds. A week later the devise began to power cycle every few hours. I disconnected the external antenna, but it just got slower speeds and the power cycle problem incread frequency. I added a cooling fan to help with possible over heating and no help. After many hours with tech support I was advised to swap out the device and sim card.Did that and was issued a newer model and discovered a new problem. "SIM card not detected or supported". This happened within just an hour or so of getting it home. Took the sim card out and reinstalled. It was good for a whi

T-Mobile Mesh Access Point - How to remove it.

My 2nd T-Mobile Mesh AP died and I will return it to the store. I am not asking for a replacement since I am done dealing with this limited technology. T-Mobile support seems to be unable to remove the now two dead access points. Those are still shown linked to my gateway. Does anyone know how to delete those? A factory reset does not help. This was recommended by T-Mobile support. Any idea? Thank you!
