If it's for an eSIM, you might be able to do an eSIM transfer from the one device to the other through your prepaid account.
This is a physical SIM. In addition, the number will be given to me by T-Mobile as soon as I arrive in the USA.

You don’t need to do anything till you get in the USA and just insert the sim. The sim will detect the new imei.
