It's about $50. I post a link in another thread about Keller Postman.

Yes i went to the link and directed to Kroll still so I guess it is~

choose the $25 dollar option~

What’s this about? I also received a text..

I just called the company listed on the link... I looked them up and called then to try and get verbal information... Its not the law firm.  The company listed is just a phone service company and they don't know much..  The law firm is supposed to in the link.. They did say we can fill out some additional forms if we have any other losses we can PROVE... I did not expect this..  Its a good thing for all us involved ..  Just don't wait till its to late.... I had to change my life around for a few months because my SS number was taken and allot of other little things that just made life HELL to deal with and fix..  I hope it works out for everyone and not to many people got there info hacked like i did

I noticed that text message yesterday and decided to call T-Mobile today because it seemed suspicious. I looked at the FAQ section on their site and found the following strange…

22. Where can I get more information?, at the very end of stating who you can contact, it states, “Please do not contact the Court, its Clerk, or T-Mobile.”

Hmmm…

Well, I called them (T-Mobile) and the representative told me I did the right thing because they don’t know anything about it, and they would have sent me a letter in the mail, and not a text message.

A simple Google search reveals plenty.

Please don't spread misinformation..

I did a Google search, however, I decided to contact T-Mobile because I didn’t trust that it was legitimate information.

I like to ask questions if I am uncertain. The T-Mobile representative told me she didn’t know anything about it.

T-mobile was, apparently, required to provide a list of  all parties who were affected by the data breach. If you got this text, your data was likely included in said breach.

Personally, my social was confirmed on the dark web. That's a BIG deal.

For the past 20 years never had this problem when it used to be Sprint lol

I've had T-Mobile for nearly twenty years and they've never failed to notify me about an anticipated action. Given that people say T-Mobile is unaware when contacted, I'd rather risk losing the $50 than risk my data being compromised even further.

Calling to speak with a representative is not going to give you the information you need to legitamize this class action lawsuit. They just work there the same as any of us who have ever been in the customer service industry. Corporate doesn't always share that information with them so they give you the best answer they can with as much as they know. I understand being skeptical, as was I. However, simply googling (which is how the majority of us got here in the first place) and reviewing a **credible** source(s) should tell you what you need to know.

It is a fraud, do not click any link from that message, I got the following message from 770-273-0561, so I decided to call T-Mobile first to find out what is going on.  Rep told me that this is not how they handle settlement, usually it will be a short message or a letter from the mail.

DO NOT CLICK THAT LINK, JUST DELETE THAT MESSAGE, BE SAFE, AND SHARE THIS TO T-Mobile's 😊

No its definitely legit. Going to the source that breached your data seems a little counter intuitive. Customer service isn't going to know the ins and outs of the company's board when comes to decisions.

I know the Knoll group as they were involved with the Equafax breach. I got some something from them last time. But CNET is legit in their information. It will hit the mainstream news soon.

Oh, ok. I thought that maybe the T-Mobile representative that I spoke to may have not known. Yet, you said you were told the same thing. Thank you for confirming that I wasn’t the only one told this.

Considering that this is about a data breach, I felt kind of skeptical about receiving a text message regarding it. Just seemed like a strange way to go about it. However, it seems most here trust that it is legitimate due to the sources they’ve read online. Do as thou will…

Here are more legitimate links to show the validity of the text. In the CNet article, it sites Knoll group as the contact. The first link is from Tmobile themselves. The

Thank you for sharing the links. I’m not in denial that the breach happened, I was informed of that last year via T-Mobile.

I was hesitant about the form of communication that the settlement group chose. It wasn’t assuring at all to me.

Yes it’s true and yes there’s a $25 option however if you look at the print under that, if you live in CA, it’s $100. 😈

Is this real or not ?

Omg did you not read the thread?  YES it’s real!

This is partially legit. Please DO NOT give any info to the number that texted you (that part is a scam), but the actual law suit is real. The site linked below is legit. I've used them for 2 other class action law suits. You're not able to file a claim just yet, but when you are, you'll go through T-Mobile. Please copy and paste link below, as for some reason it is not clickable:

There's a P. T. Barnum quote that sums this up perfectly

Yeah, its legit but its BS. The lawyers get all the money and the victims get a pittance. they get 30% of $350 million and we get $50. Who Hoo! This is especially disturbing if your info is on the dark web yet has not been used for identity theft and later when this suit is over it is used. It should never end. If your data is used they should pay, for the rest of your life. Don’t take the money if you haven’t yet had your identity stolen. Its the only way you can sue later.

Agreed. My first response was to look it up online as seems suspect. That’s how I found this thread. Seems they would use legitimate channels to communicate first. Even email is less suspicious than text.

Thank you for expressing this part.

Unfortunately, it looks as though we’re kinda screwed for the ability to sue post-settlement whether we take the money or not. But I’m not a lawyer. This info was on the settlement site:

“If you do nothing, you can still access Restoration Services after the Settlement is final, but will not be entitled to any other benefits provided under the Settlement. If the Settlement becomes final, you will give up your rights to sue T-Mobile separately for claims relating to the Data Breach or to continue to pursue any such claims you have already filed.”
