I changed my phone number back in 2018. Can i retrieve text messages and photos from my old number ???

IF you have the original device and haven’t factory reset it that’s the only place you can get it from. There is no other way
you might also be able to go into either Google or Icloud to see if they might still be in there (phone dependent/how you had it set up to back things up for you)...but a year + is pushing it..worth a try though.
