Crucial action T-Mobile to re-instate previous Sprint security features supporting the management of phone lines of minors.

Background: Understanding Sprint and T-Mobile have merged, during my time with Sprint (prior to merging) parents had a feature which ANY parent would appreciate to have in order to protect and sustain a level of security for their child/children. Specifically, this ability prevented malicious people to generate “fake” or “temporary” phone numbers through the internet and send explicit content to a Sprint phone. Attempts to block a number is successful however the suspect can regenerate another “fake” or “temporary” number and continue sending inappropriate content.

To access this SPRINT feature, after logging in proceed to;

  • My Account
  • Preferences
  • Scroll down to Limits and Permissions
  • Block Text

A drop window will appear allowing the parent to select from 6 options to include “Allow only these numbers for inbound and outbound text messages.”  This allowed the parent to control who can send text messages to the phone, IE mother, father, sister, approved friend.

Currently after the merge, of the 6 options listed, only 2 are now only available;

1 Do not block any text messages

2.Block all text messages

The following are grayed out and NOT available for selection;

3. Block all inbound text messages

4. Block all outbound text messages

5. Block only these numbers for inbound and outbound text messages

6. Allow only these numbers for inbound and outbound text messages

Respectfully request if you can direct your technical/software department to look into this matter please. I have spoken to customer service twice, a customer service supervisor (Naomi), a tech specialist (Philip), and another Supervisor (Brenda) who could not find any resolution.   Thank you.

This feature is a must. It stops my daughter from texting friends late at night when she has school, and allows me and my wife to be able to text her and receive texts from her, with the block on. Please bring this feature back

any update on this option?? concerned the original post 10 months old with no information from T-Mobile
