I have numerous numbers that I do not know which show up on my usage report as incoming and outgoing messages and some phone calls, why is this?
I assume due to telemarketers, scammers and people that have the wrong number called/messaged your phone which is why they would show up.

But why would it show me messaging them, both incoming and outgoing?

What type of phone? If it's an Android it could be Google assistant screening the calls.
