I keep getting a message on my Android phone saying there is a new carrier updat with a button to press. Should updates come from T-Mobile?

Tom

carrier updates are usually network adjustments.

does it give any other info other than just carrier update?

I am very suspicious of messages that do not indicate the origin. It could be genuine, but i am asking if others see this.

I went to the settings, system and see “Congratulations! A new software update is available for your device”. It sounds bogus. Shouldn’t it identify my device or my os or something?

not always no. so in this case it might be a OS update or a security patch..which device is it?

Revvl 6

It might be Android 13, but it is not identified.

I just got a carrier update on my Pixel 6 a couple of days ago and then went to the Play store and a lot of apps needing updates.

It might be Android 13, but it is not identified.

im not seeing it in the the testing or completed areas as of yet..

what does it show for your last security patch update? date wise i mean.

Are you sure it’s not a carrier services update that’s related to the Play store?
