switch scam

I called T-Mobile and asked if they buy out contract, was told yes but that I have to pay it off first then I get reimbursed. So I did, (paid over $800) now I was told that I don’t qualify bc my phone is not on their list. I was never told that info, I wouldn’t have switched if that was the case. I lost out on my money and not getting my reimbursement.
