Why does my gateway show 5g but I have no 5g metrics? It show only lte metrics.

The phone app has a tab for LTE and a tab for 5G.

I am using the phone app and only have metrics for lte and none for 5g. My gateway shows 4 bars of 5g.

What gateway do you have ?

The advanced metrics tab shows LTE / 5G.   The Home Tab shows only ‘service’ (‘Very Good’ == 4 bars ) - doesn’t show LTE or 5G.  Advanced metrics will show LTE or 5G.

If the 5G is blank, then your Home Internet is using LTE only.

Well that is strange.  The app can be wonky - sometimes mine won’t load at all.  I suggest rebooting the gateway and your phone.

I’d take that front display with a grain of salt.  Just like my Samsung devices can show ‘5G’ when connected to only LTE.  That’s a display vs and actual metric.

When I first got my device, the coverage map showed 5g UC, but the local tower was only 4G LTE for the next 3 months, and once in a while I would get 5G n71 from a tower over a mile away.  I don’t have the Sage modem

Your app does seem to indicate you are only connected to LTE.  But as nc1037 said, the app has had wonkiness issues.  Maybe run a speedtest and see what you're actually getting speedwise,

I can’t speak for the modem that you have … I typically have no issues with n71 or n41 on the app working with the Arcadyan.  Performance differs wildly where I am with n71 vs n41

n41:  400-550Mbps/30-60Mbps upload .  Typical 400/30.

n71:  200-250Mbps/55-70Mbps upload.  Its rare to get n71.

 

Cellphone:  default:  500-650/10-20Mbps,  SA - 550/10

LTE only:  200/20

Performance is better outdoors
