does SOS go away as soon as you leave the building? has the building been an issue in the past?

if its always been an issue then im willing to bet if you go to the opposite side of the building you’ll end up getting signal. (building/etc blocking signal).

if its never been an issue until now then either a tower is down or adjustments were made that didnt help for your specific area.

you can contact TMO and have them put in a network ticket for you.

so no matter where you go? are there any other TMO phones around you? and do they see the same issues or no? ive been seeing reports of the SOS deal popping up both here and over on Verizons site. either your fully loosing signal and the SOS pops up or Apples got some adjustments theyre needing to do on their side.

which iphone?

I have seen issues with iPhones just going into SOS mode for no reason at all.  Had a friend on Verizon experience this over the weekend in an area she always has service.  Even putting the device on WiFi Calling didn’t clear the issue while it lasted.  Verizon never could figure out what happened but her device started working normally again after a few hours.

iPhone’s also have very weak radios compared to some other devices thanks to the Intel modems they use.  If the building you are in is an older building.  That might explain why.  If you have WiFi available.  Try connecting to that and make sure WiFi Calling is enabled.

If you have had the same SIM card for more than a couple of years.  You might want to swap it out for a new one to see if that might be the issue.
