There can be a lot of reasons why this could be. Definitely can’t disagree though, even though most of the OnePlus components come from Samsung. I have no service with Samsung devices in my apartment but I get one to two bars of usable service with OnePlus devices.
on your S22, I'd recommend setting your phone to NOT support 5g. This might help compare Apples to apples. 5g in some areas can actually make your performance worse, especially where there is no 5g UC service, and 5g is not on every tower.
