We travel the Caribbean a lot. When you turn on your phone, you will get a welcome text message from the local carrier. You don’t have to do anything except turn on your phone. With Magenta, you have free text and 2G data. Phone calls are 25 cents a minute, so if you get a lot of spam callers, each will cost you 25 cents, even if you don’t answer.
