Someone in my company with a U.S. phone number is currently on a business trip in South America. When anyone in the U.S. tries to call him, we get a repeating recorded message that says, “Congratulations, you pressed star. That does not mean you are a star, it simply that you can press buttons and probably have fingers.” He cannot receive any calls or texts.

We have an international data pass activated for this user but that hasn’t resolved the issue. No response on it from our company rep yet.

South America...where? do they normally have signal down there just not this time?

Roaming would need to be turned on in the device settings for starters.  A data pass usually does not include calling or texting.  Does T-Mobile have a roaming partner where they are traveling to?
