5G Home Internet Gateway incredibly slowwwwww......
I just received the T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Gateway and can’t wait to return it to a local store. Upload and download speeds reached (*measued at intervals within a 24-hour period), as compared to what is advertised, was in fact, so far off it was a joke.Did the reset a few times, removed the SIM card and placed it back in. Noteworthy, I have a 5G tower a short distance away from me directly to the North and the signal strength on the gateway, no matter where I placed it in my two-story house, showed good to very good signal from the 5G tower. The signal from the gateway was always excellent, no matter where I moved my main laptop around in my house.Just an example on how bad (low) the speeds were was single digit Mbps average up and down and a few times there was no upload speed registering and one time the download speed was in the, UGH, Kbps. One test exhibited a much higher upload than download speed.Maybe I got a defective unit or perhaps there are some serious problems going on

Connectivity Issues with T Mobile Gateway and Intel Evo Laptop: Seeking Solutions
Dear forum members,I come to you today seeking advice and solutions to a connectivity issue I've been experiencing with my Intel Evo laptop [https://www.lenovo.com/sg/en/faqs/intel/intel-evo-platform/] and T Mobile Gateway. As a frequent traveler and remote worker, I heavily rely on a stable and fast internet connection for my professional and personal needs. Unfortunately, I've encountered some challenges when attempting to connect my Intel Evo laptop to the T Mobile Gateway, and I'm hoping someone in this community can shed some light on the matter. Here are the specific issues I've been facing:Limited Connection Range: I've noticed that the range of the T Mobile Gateway's Wi-Fi signal seems to be limited when trying to connect with my Intel Evo laptop. Even when in close proximity to the gateway, the signal strength fluctuates and sometimes disconnects. Are there any known compatibility issues or settings that I need to adjust on either the laptop or the gateway to optimize the conne
Adding TP-Link RE315 extender - problems
Hello, I read and tried many of the suggestions in other posts, but some things aren’t proceeding the same as my situation. I’m trying to link up a TP-Link RE315 extender with my TMobile router, KVD21. On the TP-Link device, I connected wirelessly thru my laptop and I went in as admin and added the SSID, pw for the TMobile modem/router and have the 2g and 5g buttons lit. Somehow, yesterday my phone picked up the up the TP-Link wireless network, but no internet connectivity, but today it’s not even showing as an available network. I’ve tried ethernet connecting and the Tethering app, but, though it sees the RE315, it doesn’t pick up the TMobile KVD21 router as a device, even though there’s an ethernet cable from between the 2 devices. I’m usually not inept at this stuff, but today? I cry uncle!! Has anyone has these issues, who can help? Thanks!
HULU doesn't play well with TMOBILE home internet
I was happy to try tmobile home internet and it worked great for about a month. I had one incident where HULU thought I had moved only to find that tmobile IP address had changed. Hulu was able to match the new ip address which gave me a temporary fix. Over the last two weeks, however, service has been spotty and my IP address was changed 4 times. Tmobile service says “sorry, it doesn’t support a static IP address and doesn’t have a work-around for use with Hulu. Question: When selling tmobile home internet, can tmobile be open about the problem and tell potential customers that if they use Hulu, they should choose another service provider?
With happiness, why has FTP started to work with T-Mobile home internet?
I’ve had T-Mobile home internet several months now. Having made it through several issues I’m glad I stayed with T-Mobile. Because T-Mobile maps IPV4 over IPV6, FTP did not work. To use FTP I had to subscribe to a VPN, turn it on when FTP was needed then turn off again. I’ve been using NordVPN for that. However, just now I attempted some file transfers and they worked! All my FTP logins work without using the VPN. This is wonderful. So I’m wondering if anyone knows what changed. Was it T-Mobile? Was it something else? It isn’t the FTP servers or protocols or the internet in general. I use multiple FTP servers. So it has to be T-Mobile.
Hello,This is my first post. Glad to meet everyone. I didn’t even know T-Mobile had a forum until I got the home internet and found how limited the gateways are and began searching for tips and tricks.I wanted to see if anyone had tried building their own modem. I have been running a IPFire firewall and router box for a while now since I had DSL. So why not use it for T-Mobile too? I don’t even know if it will work, but in theory I think it should. IPFire has a decent amount of options for connecting to a service.I would be using my computer that is currently running the firewall and router Adding a PCI-E M.2 adapter Attaching a 5g module to that adapter SIM card into the adapter Plug the Waveform antenna to the module Configure the “Red” adapter in IPFireIf this works, I should have no double NAT and many other features like DHCP address control, VPN, and Intrusion Prevention in one unit.It would be about $100 in parts I need to get so less than one of the pre-built 5G routers.O
VPN Issue on Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway
I found a lot of complains about the Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway with VPN. I have the same problem. My firmware version is SGJi10202-1.2.74.VPN does not work from my Windows PC, but it works with my iPhone and iPad!!!I found out that it could have something to do with the MTU packet size. This MTU value can be changed under Windows. Until now I didn’t have time to dig into this. Does anyone know how to do it and tested this? The firmware of the Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway is absolutely poor. I think everyone should contact T-Mobile and complain about this firmware. T-Mobile needs more pressure to enhance this black box.
Beware the Equipment Return Gremlins
To the point:Packaged equipment per instructions and dropped off to UPS with pre-printed label.Equipment delivered to T-Mobile.Charge shows up months later for unreturned equipment. They will not resolve.A happy customer with a different service provider as of today for all personal and business lines, and waiting with all documentation and tracking info to have the negative entry removed from my credit report when it appears. This has happened to others here, so I advise caution to all when returning equipment. Keep all documentation and tracking numbers, as you may end up needing it to remove collection accounts because T-Mobile’ warehouse clowns lost your return. Or maybe warehouse gremlins ate it?So long, T-Mobile!
Sagemcom Fast5688W USB-C port dead
Good day,I keep my T-Mobile Sagemcom gateway cool by using a nifty little two-fan setup, where the one on the bottom sucks in cool air and the one on top blows out warm air. The fans are connected to a USB-A plug; I have a USB-A to C adaptor and it has been working great. Today, by accident I checked and noticed the fans were not working. I swapped out adaptors with no luck. I plugged the USB-A cable into my Mac mini server and the fans work. Question - have you ever had the USB-C port go inoperative? Any suggestions besides swapping the gateway out for another one? Thanks in advance!
home internet does not work well for gaming.
Why is it I can game just fine if I use a hotspot from my phone (same network same location) but it’s terrible with t-mobile home internet? This must be an issue with the gateways. T mobile really needs to address this ASAP I have used Verizon’s home internet and it works fine for gaming so it’s definitely possible. When I use t mobile home internet for any game it’s basically unplayable because of lag. Honestly t-mobile should be giving customers that have hint unlimited hot spot data until this is fixed. I should not have to use my hot spot just to enjoy gaming and be limited to 40gb because hint can’t handle it. I know you guys are losing a lot of customers for hint because of this issue I use to work at a T-Mobile call center and had many people discontinue their hint because of this.
