Decided I won’t be handing over my bank info so I’ll just take the $20 increase, so now when I comparison shop other plans they’ll easily beat TMo. And I have paid-for unlocked phones so it will be easy. Oh well, it’s been a great 16 years TMo, but good things seem to always come to an end. I’m thankful we live in a place with open and free competition.
I’m VERY leery to do this. Every consumer guide tells you not to give your bank account out and debit cards have practically zero safeguards like credit cards. I just got my notice yesterday to change it from a credit card by Dec. 5th. I’ll be thinking about all my options until then.
On a side question, would a “Metro by TMO” prepaid phone work on my TMO plan? Or would I first have to get it “unlocked”?
Okay, yes it is a 5G phone so thanks for the recommendation on a new sim card. I’m thinking one might come with the new phone since it’s a TMO branded prepaid phone. Thanks!
Thanks gramps28. Yes, I have an existing tmo plan, just an old phone (with a micro sim) so as long as the new tmo branded prepaid phone at walmart takes a micro sim, I should be okay. Thanks again. I didn’t know if the phone intended for a prepaid plan was somehow locked into a prepaid plan activation or something.
All numbers in one day, probably within a few hours of each other.
Hi Chris, I have a related porting question. I will be porting out all four numbers of my current TMO family plan. What order should I port out, I'm thinking to do the primary account holder's (mine) last as opposed to first? My concern is that porting out a number might somehow cancel other numbers in the plan before they all get ported out successfully. Thanks.
So I just got my wife a new Moto X4 and it came with Android 7.1.1 and wifi calling is available for her to turn on. My older Moto G4 only has Android 7.0 and it doesn't have wifi calling as an option.
I didn't read close enough, I have the Moto G4 (has Nougat Android 7.0), maybe it's because your G6 has Orea? I don't have the menu sequence, mine is settings>wireless & networks, then nothing like advanced calling. Oh well, something I'll look forward to on my next Moto. Thanks for your reply.
How do you turn on WiFi calling with the Moto G6 (I can't find it). Thanks!
Yeah, I would have thought T-Mobile being the uncarrier would be very customer friendly when adding a new line (after all this is more dollars on a monthly basis forever). I added a line and brought the new phone to a T-Mobile store and sure enough charged me $25. I argued that I was a 10 year customer but they wouldn't budge. Oh well, I learned that you can purchase a T-Mobile SIM card on Ebay for $5 and then not even have to go to a store, set it up via a phone call. Come on T-Mobile, maybe do something like give a certain "allowance" for loyal customers for things like SIM cards, etc.
