Hi Cali, Thanks for the clarification. My current land line is connected directly to the Optimum cable modem and it works fine. T-Mobile internet gateway has a RJ45 jack, I can buy a RJ45 male to RJ11 female (phone line jack) adapter/converter and them plug my land line into T-Mobile internet gateway. I believe it should work. No it will not work, there is no voice service on TMO home internet. It is data only. Yes, it does have a SIM with a phone number but that is only because the data is via cell service which must have a phone number. The RJ45 jacks are only for wired ethernet connections. You have to use a VOIP device like I suggested above.
Again, thanks for further details and clarification. In that case i rather port my land line number to Google Voice and buy a one time device Obihai OBi200 1-Port VoIP Adapter with Google Voice. Before you do, I would check with here or TMO support to make sure it’s compatible with TMO home internet. The routers are not configurable beyond basic wifi settings. TMO promotes Ooma for $9.95 per month so pretty sure Ooma works.
If Apple provided the replacement phone and that phone is locked to Tmobile, then Apple created the lock and they should have added the IMEI number of your replacement phone to Tmobile’s device database. Since Tmobile has no record of the IMEI in their database the Apple failed to add it. I would try the following steps:Contact Apple and tell them you need the IMEI of the replacement phone to be added to TMobile’s device database. Only Apple can do this. Get an email from Apple to confirm Apple has done this with a copy of the IMEI # in the email. Contact TMO support and tell them that Apple has added the IMEI to their device database and you have an email from Apple that confirms this. Hopefully, Tmobile can find you IMEI number and then unlock it. Remind them that you have fulfilled your financing per FCC and they must unlock: https://www.fcc.gov/general/cell-phone-unlocking
Were on the Magenta Max Military plan which is great, but we still owe $400 on our two phones, I can pay that off tomorrow and we can sell our two phones for $700 to $1000 and get two free I-phones 14 Maxs for free from AT&T with there military discount witch is less then T-Mobile , its a win win, if I able to live more years its all good. we enjoyed T-MOBILE for 30 years hopefully we can enjoy AT&T for 30 years The At&t promotion requires that you trade in your old phone for each new phone and will lock you in for 24 months by spreading out your trade in credits over that time. TMO offers the same type of promotional trade in. Have you called TMO to ask? Since you are on Magenta Max you are eligible for their latest promotions. Not all of their promotions are posted on their website. Back in Oct this year, I got $730 trade in credit for an iPhone X when I upgraded to a 13 mini so it was “almost free”. I got an upfront $90 credit plus $640 spread out over 24 months. I’ve
Unfortunately no. When you sign up for the promotion as a new customer, the first thing they do is transfer your phone numbers from your current carrier which immediately terminates your service with that carrier.
I have the same experience in Lake Tahoe CA. Strong signal but bad data and voice quality. This is due to the surge of people during peak seasons. Since this issue is seasonal and only on certain days of the week, I don’t think TMO or any carrier will add more capacity. To our original question - you can always call TMO support to let them know but they will never commit to doing anything about it. You may have better luck complaining to the local tourism board or chamber of commerce.
ok, after a couple direct messages asking “how”, it’s better to share with the community.Let me give the most complicated example of TMO promotional trade in for existing customers. First as I mentioned before I am on a legacy plan call “Tmobile Amplified Now” which is One Plus but also has a corp discount. This is the plan I signed up when I first became a customer about 10 years ago. I pay $180 for 6 lines which is the maximum number of lines I’m allowed. The summary of my personal experience - I never get any promotional emails or texts from TMO. I only see promotion from TV or web adds from TMO that are targeted to new subscribers. Whenever I see something that I want from those generic adds I simply call and ask if I qualify. I have yet to be denied. If you never ask, you will not get promotional discounts.First let’s talk new benefits that come with new plansEvery time a new plan came out with a feature I wanted like Netflix, I would either automatically see it added to my legacy
Unfortunately no. Your only option is to use an external router and enable DHCP so that your TMO router and external router are on different LANs.
You don’t need an iPhone for iMessage and FaceTime (Video). The phone number on your SIM is linked to a data only service which is why the service cost a less than a phone line. Your iPad phone number is just an identifier for Tmobile network and not a “real” phone number which is why you don’t have a phone app on an iPad. For voice calls, you can enable calls from your iPad if you link it to your iPhone and when you use FaceTime voice calls, it will show your iPhone number.https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/make-and-receive-phone-calls-ipadf97892b2/ipados
One “out of box” suggestion. If you are looking to unlock so you can sell your iPhone, you can see what a trade in at TMO (trade in for upgrade) or Apple (gift card) will get you. Neither care if you phone is locked for trade in.
The terms and conditions do not specify which plans but only say “qualifying plans”. Since you have to call TMO support to get the discount you might as well call and ask.
Easiest way to find out is to add it to your cart and find out. You don't need to complete the transaction. Thanks. I just did that and the quote came back at $315, so I guess the 55+ plan doesn’t qualify for the $1000. I was wondering about that because I had tried earlier to order it by phone from T-Mo’s sales department. When I inquired about the trade in value, the rep told me I would be getting $1000 for my old phone, so I told him to go ahead and process my order. Afterwards, I was looking through the paperwork emailed to me and couldn’t find any mention of the $1000 trade in, so I called T-Mo’s Customer Service Center in Albuquerque NM and asked the rep to check it for me. He told me that there was no trade in attached to my order and offered to cancel it and redo it with a trade in. I agreed and told him that the first rep had told me I would be getting $1000 for my old phone. The first form he emailed to me was the trade in agreement which said that I had agree
