Home and Business Internet
A dedicated space to talk about all of the things going on with T-Mobile High-Speed Internet
This is why Bridge/Passthrough is not an option.
We all want configurability, passthrough/ bridge mode to use our own routers avoiding the dreaded double NAT that can effect network performance. The problem is not with T-mobiles gateway’s. It has to do with the network. All of the home and business gateways don't get their own public IP address. Users in an area are sharing one public IP address. Unless T-Mobile will allow for static IP addresses is why these gateways have limited configuration options. Im not sure if its an option. I haven't called tech support to ask if a static IP is available. This is why you will see slow downs at peak usage times. In layman's terms, picture 10 devices on your home network all streaming 4K video with a 150 MBPS connection, it can't handle that much bandwidth. Same goes for the T-mobile home internet modem/router but the problem is your sharing the connection with multiple Home internet customers. If you have a cable, fiber or a DSL connection you do in fact get your own public IP address. Cable
A LOT of T-Mobile ID issues as a Home Internet customer
I’ve been dealing with this for several hours now, so forgive the rant…It seems that T-Mobile has no concept of Home Internet users not having a T-Mobile phone. I don’t know why that is so hard to understand. However, if you only have Home Internet, and not phone, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get a working T-Mobile ID. The form to create one will tell you your email is wrong when it’s not. In the forums I found a message saying to just create a forum account then link your phone number, so I tried that and when I log in it won’t let me do anything without linking my phone number, but entering my phone number gives me a Service Unavailable error. So, I used the online support chat to try to get this resolved. The first person was completely clueless and told me I had to call customer service. Not sure what the point of the online chat is if they’re just going to tell you to call. So then I call, sit on hold for a VERY long time, and then hung up. For some reason, when you call the Home Internet su
5G Home internet keeps dropping!
I've had 5G home internet service for about two months, after two weeks it started acting up. For about five times a day all my devices connected to the Arcadyan KVD21 gateway lose internet yet stay connected to wifi, I've tried everything! Do I need to replace my gateway? Very frustrating.
5G Home Internet Gateway incredibly slowwwwww......
I just received the T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Gateway and can’t wait to return it to a local store. Upload and download speeds reached (*measued at intervals within a 24-hour period), as compared to what is advertised, was in fact, so far off it was a joke.Did the reset a few times, removed the SIM card and placed it back in. Noteworthy, I have a 5G tower a short distance away from me directly to the North and the signal strength on the gateway, no matter where I placed it in my two-story house, showed good to very good signal from the 5G tower. The signal from the gateway was always excellent, no matter where I moved my main laptop around in my house.Just an example on how bad (low) the speeds were was single digit Mbps average up and down and a few times there was no upload speed registering and one time the download speed was in the, UGH, Kbps. One test exhibited a much higher upload than download speed.Maybe I got a defective unit or perhaps there are some serious problems going on
Home Internet Disconnecting Idle Devices
I've read through many of the posts on here and I'm not seeing a real answer to this.I'm new to T-Mobile Home Internet but have many years experience in IT.I have a Samsung TV, multiple Amazon echo devices, Amazon fire TV stick, many smart light bulbs, plus my Moto 5G phone all connected.Devices seem to randomly get disconnected from the Internet and I have to reset them to refresh the connection. Most of the time it seems to be when devices are idle like the Amazon echo when not in use. However, my phone will randomly disconnect while I'm using it and I have to reset the Wi-Fi on my phone. It's not an overheating issue like many posts say. The unit has a very cool temp. As far as signal goes, I'm getting over 250mb download speed with 3 out of 5 bars. When my TV is connected I have no issues streaming high def movies. It's also not tower maintenance. That's a standard blanket excuse for when they have no answer for you. So I'm wondering if there's a back end SSL route or admin GUI to b
Home internet modem keeps powering down and restarting
So, we had the Tmobile modem(the 5g tower... black box) for a few weeks now... worked great at first but now it continues to shut down every few minutes and restart. If it does it long enough I have to completely redo the setup on the app. Has anyone ever had this happen?
5G home internet keeps dropping
I’m having a problem with T-Mobile 5g home internet that has not been resolved despite many calls in to the help line. I’ve had T-Mobile 5g home internet for almost a month now, and the short version is that every so often the gateway drops the network. When I say “drop the network,” I mean to say it throws everything off of the Wifi that it’s broadcasting, and anything plugged in via ethernet says “no network found. (To elaborate this point, cell phones switch to cellular data because wifi is gone for them, and computers hardwired into the gateway think that they are no longer plugged into anything.) Turning off the gateway and turning it back on resolves the issue, but doesn’t prevent it from happening again. Whatever is happening doesn’t seem to affect our connection speed/strength when the gateway IS providing signal to devices in the home, but due to the nature of our work, we need a connection that won’t just disconnect randomly. To address this, T-mobile has so far run a
all pdn ip connection failure
So after the recent update it seems like anytime I connect to a Sprint tower (that I having been using for months. B26 and B25).I don't get this error if I connect to a tower much further away from my house (that's a T-Mobile tower) no problem, no errors, other than of course terrible speeds because of poor signal.Just wondering if this is a known issue? One thing to add is my cell phone connects to the sprint tower no problem, so it seems like a issue for just TMHI / "trashcan".
2.4g devices not connecting to T-Mobile Home Network
Recently I set-up a T-Mobile 5G Home Internet and am discovering that not all my devices can connect. My Shark IQ Robot vacuum is one device that will not connect to 5G, it says it can only connect to 2.4G. Does anyone have an idea how I can get this to work?
Loss of internet on home WI-FI and cell phones daily
We have been with T-Mobile for about 4 months now. When the internet works, it is great. Great speed. However, about a month ago, our internet on Wi-Fi and cell phones started going down between 8:15 and 9:30 every morning. When this happens, we have no internet coverage on any of our devices, including hotspots. We are right off the interstate in direct line of the tower. Our signal has always been between weak and good. What would cause this to start happening every day? Is there anything I can do? I had to get a backup hotspot device from Verizon to cover me while I work from home. Not as good speed wise, but much more reliable. Any suggestions????
How Can I Setup My T-Mobile ID for My Home Internet Account...???
I signed up for the Home Internet and got an email that I was activated on 04/01/21... A few days later the cylinder device arrived and connected to the internet easily. Nevertheless, I cannot register to get a T-Mobile ID for this account. I cannot login online OR use the T-Mobile app because it keeps stating they don't recognize my email. I've had two lengthy phone calls with support and visited a store (whom in turn called support)... As of now I STILL can't create a T-Mobile ID to manage my account. (This account was created using my Pre-paid phone account...) At first I thought it didn't matter that I couldn't access my account since the service is working so-so... But at the end of the first month my service was cut off as the person who initiated my account did not ensure that I was signed up for autopay. I never received an email about my bill. When I called about my service they wanted me to pay the $65 + restoration fee + plus a fee for making a payment manually over the phon
Netflix/T Mobile/Magenta Plan Issues
Hello,In early 2023 I got the T Mobile Magenta Max plan, which had the option of either free Netflix (basic plan I guess) OR upgraded Netflix for $7 added to one’s T Mobile bill. In Feb of 2023, I spent time on the phone with an Agent doing other things for this plan (added a line, did the Apple TV thing, etc.). I wanted to upgrade my Netflix (as I’ve been a Netflix customer for 10 years or so) - so I did everything the Agent told me to do (which was something like log in to Netflix, put in some code, etc.). Now I have the upgraded Netflix, T-Mobile charging me an extra $7 on my bill, AND Netflix charging me my original $20.95 a month. Has anyone else experienced this? Netflix refuses to refund me, because apparently, instead of upgrading my account, I created a second account (thanks T Mobile Customer Service Agent!)Also, does anyone have a really good direct line to a helpful Netflix Customer Service department (I know that the person I chatted with isn’t the actual Manager - there h
T-Mobile Home Internet throttling speeds to certain servers (10x reduction)
My T-Mobile Home Internet service (unlimited plan) has been working great for the past 18 months. Download speeds consistently in the 175-450 mbps range (usually 250-350) when running speedtest.net using Ethernet connection to my gateway.2 weeks ago my download speed suddenly dropped to 15-30 mbps consistently (speedtest.net) - a 10x reduction. Strangely enough my upload speed remained good at 25-50 mbps consistently. There’s a long story about many calls into Home Internet and Customer Care support numbers, bottom line is that everyone kept telling me it’s a cellular problem (connection between tower and my gateway) probably caused by shifting antenna positions on the tower due to the maintenance. This never made any sense because why would my upload speed not be affected if the cellular connection was bad? Making even less sense: All the metrics on my gateway look very good: 4 bars displayed on front panel, 5G RSRQ of -11, 5G RSRP of -72, 5G SINR of 40, 5G band N41.Today I d
Time to say good-bye to T-Mobile Internet
After 5 months of subscription, I have no option but to say good-bye to T-Mobile Internet. I have substantial investments in the service, both in time and money with high hope that it would work for me. I bought a Waveform 4x4 antenna that gave me a pretty solid performance until 3 weeks ago when things started to fall apart. It began with speed reduction. I used to get 150mbps up and 25mbps down but it was reduced to 50% or less. If it had been just slower, I would have tried to do something more, such as moving the antenna to get better reception or just lived with it. But it also started to have random disconnects, particularly during the day. I downloaded a network monitoring tool to see how bad the situation is. Yesterday afternoon between 3-4pm, it has 5 disconnects, lasting from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. I am using a VPN to log into my comany’s network to do work. Any interruption of the network, no matter how short the inverval is will result in a reset of the connection. Th
Print apps won't work with T-Mobile
Since switching to T-Mobile I can no longer use the Canon Print app. No matter what it WILL NOT find my printer!! I had to go out and get a cable to hook it up to my laptop to be able to at least print from there, but I really would like to be able to print from my tablet and phone again.I even tried different print apps to see if they could connect to my printer Canon PIXMA MG3620Thanks in advance for any help
Tmobile blocking my message I sent out to customers with url despite having good rating.
info.sendsationaltext.com is our url that we noticed is being blocked went sent out via A2P Messaging. We use a Twilio number that is registered properly and is approved. We send out to many clients for marketing purposes. Any way we can whitelist this url or you can explain what is wrong with it so far the domain it is being hosted has also a good reputation. Any sort of help is appreciated, I viewed a lot of your forums but found nothing left.
5G Gateway and Ooma
I converted from cable landline to Ooma a while ago, no problem. Currently, I’m in the 14 day trial period with the 5G Gateway. Everything, except Ooma, is working well. When I plug Ooma into the gateway, Ooma never successfully connects. When I plug my router into the gateway and Ooma into the router, Ooma connects. I’ve read several things that suggest I need to modify several port settings in my firewall or modem, but can find no method to modify these settings in the gateway. And, I’d think that going through the router wouldn’t change any of that. I can live with the router solution, but would rather eliminate an extra point if failure in my home network.
MLB The Show does not work on my T-mobile 5g internet box.
MLB The Show does not work on my T-mobile 5g internet box. It will say “Challenge Failed” when trying to play an online match. The game works perfectly fine when i bring my xbox to my parents house. But when i bring it back to my wifi, it doesn’t work. I test the NAT type until it’s open, I reset the router, etc. I’ve done everything I can think of and there no solution. Does anyone have this same problem? This is the only game that won’t work either. This and NBA 2k brought me some issues. But i can play COD or shooters on my wifi… but cross play sports games seem to bring the issue
Windows laptop can't find T-Mobile Home Internet network... but all other devices can
Just set up my gateway… working fine for the most part, but it doesn’t appear in the list of available networks on my Windows 10 laptop. Phone, tablet, another laptop elsewhere in the house… the network shows up just fine on all those devices.Any idea what would cause this? TIA!
