Network & Coverage
Let's talk about our coverage, signal, and roaming experience.
My line was suspended by T-Mobile and I can’t make or receive any calls. When I try and place a call it connects me to T-Mobile’s payment line but I owe nothing right now. Using data over cell service is extremely difficult if it’s working at all. When I look at my account history it says to link an MSISDN. I’ve called customer service and they say they see nothing wrong with my account, and took me through some troubleshooting steps which did not work. Will switching to an eSIM fix this problem?? Please help :(
I’ve had T-mobile for several years now. I’ve got the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I was just comparing plans and noticed that in the plan comparison window, my magenta plus only shows unlimited data for 4g lte. Where as the new go5g plans show unlimited data for 5g. I’ve noticed lately that when connected to 5g networks my phone does little to nothing. Is this an indicator that 5g is being phased out for Magenta plus users and we’re required to change to the new go5g service if we want to be able to utilize the 5g network?
we live 1.8 miles from the tower. When we got on Tmobile cell and home internet several months ago, we got on the home internet around 90-100mbs and no less than 20-30. Now, we will get 30-40 mbs for 15 minutes then .2-.4 mbs for 15-30 minutes. It’s on and off on and off. We have called several times ands last time they said it was a coverage issue. How can you have coverage one minute and none the next then coverage again?
As of Thursday, my kids apple watches have not been able to make phone calls and when attempting to text we get a message saying: Free Msg: Unable to send message, blocking is active. I’ve spent over 12 hours on the line with various customer service and tech people at T-mobile with no success, so essentially these are basically bricks, because the ENTIRE reason we bought these watches was so our kids could call us in an emergency. We have:updated with new simsupdated softwarereset network connectionschecked to make sure no blocking is enableddisabled all screentime/downtime/schooltime blocksupdated phone softwarereinstalled watch appsays cellular is not connectedAnd… nothing. I am so beyone frustrated. Has anyone had this problem and been able to fix it? One of the watches is a year old and worked until Thursday, the other is brand new as of Thursday. We have a Magenta plan.
Around 11pm today, an area nearby me had a power, service and internet outage due to an incident. I live in Mebane, NC. Is there any known issues currently? My home internet service says its signal is good but its actually not working at all. Im currently connected on a family members seperate line to write this message, I'll be attempting to contact internet support soon.
I am subscribed to traffic alerts via 511NJ.org and had received all alerts up until about 2 months ago. All alerts ceased. The alerts originate from email@example.com and are sent to my mobile email firstname.lastname@example.org I have called tech support and spoke to alive person and also chatted with tech support through the app and nobody can figure it out. 511NJ does not give you the option to use just the phone number. It is using the short code but the alerts are being filtered out somehow. It automatically adds the @tmomail.com part. This is a drag because I depend on these traffic reports as I am a driver by profession. What can be done. Should I email Mike Seivert ? (My next step)
eSims have gained in popularity. Our T-mobile plan includes free data while traveling in Europe (we’re U.S. based) but 25 cents a minute for phone calls is expensive. Does T-Mobile have some other International plan for phone calls and how does that compare to our getting a local eSim carrier?
T-Mobile I greatly enjoy the wild swings in internet download speed from 0.82 mbps to 46 mbps, but I really like when my upload speed is faster than my download speed. I would call customer support, but they will tell me to restart my gateway. I have done that, it did nothing to fix the problem.
I live in Bullhead City AZ and my service has been especially horrible this week. Has anyone else experienced T-Mobile service being especially bad outside of Las Vegas area to Lake Havasu? I had important phone calls missed today, unable to send texts as well. How do I report outages or no service on the App? Definitely can't call to report. And it's not obvious on the app to report service issues. We were actually talking about getting a landline, something I haven't had in over a decade and a half! I had better service with Sprint. Since moving to T-Mobile our service degraded, even with the cellspot. This can't keep happening.
I’ve been using a Galaxy A20 which allows Bluetooth tethering (which was handy when you use Smart View...you can still get a (slow) internet connection on another device while watching screen-mirrored TV!). I just upgraded to a Galaxy A32 5G and Bluetooth tethering is missing. Anyone know if tf there’s a “secret handshake” to get it? And, incidentally, there appears to be a lot of “info” about Smart View not working on newer phones unless you’re connecting to a Samsung smart tv; not true. I am connected to my Hisense 43” Roku and it’s even better; stronger signal and TV screen is smoother, especially on high-activity screens (such as football).
