For 3 years here is the tea… TL;DR More customers getting screwed by unethical if not completely illegal behaviors. T-mobile likely has institutionalized best practices around screwing customers to maximize profits. I definitely have seen this on their trade-ins. Have traded multiple pristine phones and they are lost or damaged in transit or the promotion is “accidentally” not applied. I’d say 50% of my trades over past 5 years fell into this category. Happy to provide more info and sign up for class action if asked.
Totally agree. Terrible customer service, data breaches, bad coverage, increasing rates - that’s the new T-Mobile. We dumped them recently after 30 years for these types of games. You should do it too. There are lots of better options out there.
Just another classic example of T-Mobile nickling and diming. This is NOT Netflix’s fault. T-mobile is not paying for what they originally promised you they would pay. Just like when they stopped considering credit cards to be eligible for the autopay discount. We dumped them last month after almost 30 years. You should too.
I was getting these a lot too. After I dumped T-Mobile I get almost no sms spam anymore. Pretty sure T-Mobile is selling your info or it was released in one of their many data breaches.
Classic T-Mobile. Offer a promo and then “mistakenly” dont apply it to the bill. This is their MO for everything. We dumped them recently after almost 30 years because of their baloney lies and games. Don’t take it! Leave!
We were on a legacy military plan so we got a military discount at At&t for a couple of lines and went to xfinity mobile for some of our lines that use very little data. Happy with both but xfinity mobile surprised us at how good the coverage is. I miss the “team of experts” from years past but the T-Mobile support has become very bad just like everywhere else. (Obviously they weren’t good enough to keep us as customers). The nice thing about xfinity is the people working in the physical store here are really good and helpful.
Did you have any luck with small claims? We just left T-mobile after 2 decades because they raised rates on our grandfathered plan by 50% (end of a long list of scams and abuses by T-mobile).
Classic TMobile. We just left them after over 2 decades because of stuff like this.“Free” promotion doesn’t work (spend days on the phone to fix) They lost our trade-in (spends weeks on the phone to sort it out) They “accidentally” change our grandfathered plan when we ordered a watch (spend weeks on the phone to fix) They received another trade in but the rep didn’t apply the promo correctly so we have to call in EVERY month for a bill adjustment Our credit card is hacked thanks to their breech ( months with T-Mobile, banks, state and feds) The final straw was when they changed the autopay rules and increased our bill by 50% for all the add-on lines. So long TMO.Also I’ve spent a lot of time in India and have never met a natural born Indian with an accent named “John”. I suspect they try to get offshore reps to Americanize their names to make customers feel more comfortable. How exploitative! Can you imagine your employer making you do that? In India it is common in the call center
Every time I get a bill I’m remined how T-Mobile broke their promise … Same! I couldn’t take it anymore so after decades with TMO we are now former customers.
Good decision. We just left TMO after 3 decades. Their coverage slipped terribly after the 5g switch. We had our credit cards hacked several times thanks to their data breeches. They raised our rates by 50% with the recent autopay shenanigans. The list goes on. 3 years of subpar service after 3 decades of happiness. Oh how the mighty have fallen…
I started with Voicestream in the 90’s and switchover to T-mobile. When we were stationed overseas we took 4 years off but came back to T-Mobile after moving back to USA. Basically DECADES with these guys. Last week we dumped TMO and moved all our family lines to Xfinity and AT&T because the last 3 years with TMO have been awful. The final straw was when they changed the autopay policy and raised rates on our grandfathered military plan by 50%. “Thank you for your service” indeed.
I loved voicestream/T-mobile for decades but the past 3 years have been awful. Every trade-in had “errors”, coverage in my area has been awful, and phone support folks just don’t care anymore. This latest betrayal of raising the rates on my grandfatherd plan was the last straw and we moved our 6 lines away. If everyone did this T-mobile would have no choice but to reverse these exploitative policies. Xfinity, gave us all free iPhone 15’s and has way better signal. By the gig is super cheap for low data lines. Just do it. Dump T-Mobile.
Classic T-mobile. Saying one thing and doing another. Moved our lives away when they changed the autopay rules after giving our credit cards away to hackers twice before. Go back to Verizon you’ll be happier there.
After over 20 years with voice stream/T-Mobile we moved all our lines to xfinity. Lower bill free devices better coverage. Don’t hesitate - do it!
What a debacle. Paramount says “This code is not valid. Please try again.” I’ve tried again. Called TMO support they said to call Paramount. Did that - Paramount said it’s TMO’s problem. Very frustrated - spent more time on the phone trying to get my free subscription than it’s worth. Another disappointing “promotion” from T-mobile.
