I recently started test driving T-Mobile home internet at my house, and it's worked great for everything except games, where I'm having a weird issue with some of them. When I try to play Apex Legends on PC, the game will connect and play really smooth for anywhere from 1-3 minutes, and then all communication will be lost, which will take 20 seconds for the game to kick me out to the main menu. If I go back into the game from the main menu, it'll work fine untill the 1-3 minutes elapses. During all of this my PC never loses connection, and this issue occurs over wifi and ethernet. This issue probably does not lie with the game as this issue does not occur with other ISPs, and it did not coincide with an update. A similar issue is happening with Splatoon 3 on the Nintendo Switch, where the game will play superb for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before dropping the connection. Cannot access my Gateway at 192.168.12.1

Using my VAIO SX14 Windows 10 Pro Laptop:I cannot access my Gateway at 192.168.12.1. Network trouble shooting says “You computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (192.168.12.1) is not responding”.and “Security or Firewall settings might be blocking the connection”Also I can no longer access any of my networked PCs or access this laptop from any of my PCs.Can anyone suggest how I could fix this?Thanks in advance.

When I first got my gateway it worked ok 6 months now and it sucks so bad I can't play games and half the time my wife can't even watch her shows without it buffing I think TMobile needs to stop making new stuff and fix theyre crappy service when I get another service in dropping this crap

Canon printer will not connect to T-Mobile 5G Gateway home internet

I have the Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway and a Canon PIXMA TR4520 printer. I have tried multiple methods to connect the printer to the T-Mobile wifi network and am still unsuccessful. Currently, I am attempting setup using the Canon Wi-Fi Connection Assistant. In Network Settings, the T-Mobile network encryption type shows up as Do Not Use. Is there a way to change the encryption type on the network? Would that enable the printer to access the T-Mobile wifi? Any and all suggestion welcome. I have tried T-Mobile tech support, but they cannot help, saying it's a printer issue.

finding best location for T-Mobile home Internet gateway

I'm confused about moving the unit around the house to find the best location. To do this must the unit be plugged in, or can it be done using battery power only? It seems crazy to have to walk around and keep plugging in and then unplugging between locations. You should be able to just walk around on battery power only... and watch the signal meter on the top to find the best spot. Please advise as I just got mine and it's unclear how best to do this.

Using a wilson booster with my t-mobie 5G home internet gateway

i have the black gateway which picks up 1 to 2 bars of signal. I decided to purchase a wilson booster to get a better signal. Now I get 4 to 5 bars. Unfortunately, after about 10 minutes or so my latency goes from 40 to 60 up to 400 or more which makes the boosted signal useless. I thought it was the booster setup, so I replaced it with a new one. Still does the same thing. When I just use the gateway everything works fine but my up/down speeds are reduced from 15mps/5mps to 3mps/3mps. Any thoughts on what is causing this. T-mobile customer service was not able to help me with this.

Tmobile home internet can't connect to my roku tv. It's visible. But it won't let me connect. I tried my new password, the admin password, and the wifi key. None of them work. When I turn my S21 ultra into a hotspot, that seems to connect just fine to my tv.

5G Home Internet nightly slow down

Hey all, I’ve had the black 5G gateway for a couple days now, and have been a T-Mobile customer for just as long. I guess the issue I’m having is looking like one that a lot of other people are as well.During the day my gateway pulls about 500 Mbps and has a “Very Good” signal. Without moving or changing anything about the setup, usage area, or anything, around 8PM Eastern my speeds go down to MAX 5 Mbps.Nothing has changed other than the time of the day. I have a ticket open for the “local engineering department” to troubleshoot. It’ll randomly be good during the night and then go back to the unusable 5 Mbps.I relayed this to Customer Care, and while they seem sympathetic to the plight, they ultimately just want me to continuously restart the gateway so they can reconnect it to the tower because it has “stopped communicating.” Is this the common reply that everyone is getting? Home Internet Gateway Needs Reboot Multiple Times Daily, Internet Access Dropping

Multiple times on most days, at no particular time of day, internet access stops working. Devices can still connect to the WiFi network, but there is no internet access on WiFi or wired until the device gets turned off and back on. In rare cases it might work itself out within a matter of hours, for example if I am not home to reboot it. It has been like this the entire time I’ve had it, and it causes parts of my security system not to work, as well as stops my crypto mining that my PC does when I’m not using it, therefore actively costing me money when I’m not home to babysit the gateway (eg, at work).I really, really want to stick with T-Mo but I’ll have to sign up with the local cable monopoly if uptime is this bad.

T-Mobile internet router alternate power options?

I just got my router on Friday and everything works as it should but I noticed the router uses a basic USB-C 15W 2.9A charger brick meaning it's not very power hungry. Does this mean I could use third party USB-C cables and my own charger brick of the same voltages? I don't have a lot of plugs in my room so having a really long USB-C cord would be helpful, just don't know if it'll cause any issues.

Home internet speeds extremely inconsistent and connection drops intermittently

We jumped on home internet service as soon as we heard about it. For a long time now, Comcast has been the only choice in Baltimore City and it feels like they squeeze city residents to subsidize lower prices for their customers in the counties where they have competition. Our current Comcast bill is just over $100 per month with their most basic service, a bundled Internet + TV. We don’t even use the TV service but they wouldn’t give us a plan with just internet service. This costs us about $110/month. I can plug my brother’s address (he has VZ Fios) in on the Comcast website and get offers for $39.99/month. I’ve been looking for a way to break free of Comcast for years now so I want to love this service but it’s just not measuring up.We had one of the mobile internet gateways delivered on 3/9. Eero WiFi Mesh System

I just received the new Tmobile 5g Gateway and I understand its a router as well. How does one go about disabling the router capabilities and allow de Eero Mesh System to act as the main router? I tried contacting the Tmobile Wifi Customer Care with the Eero support team and it was a long 2 hour conversation with no resolution? We asked if we could speak to the TMobile Network Engineers and they said it was not possible? Has anyone experienced this issue and can help out? Gaming with T-mobile Internet Xbox series S/PC

Ever since I have used T-Mobile internet, my gaming has been mediocre at best as far as connection. My ping on Rocket league at times ranges from a standard 68-300+. I cannot even get into any games on Battlefield 2042, as it times out. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is frustrating because I can sometimes play (with terrible ping) but when I join a friend's party it kicks me out of the game. I even hosted the match and tried logging into a game, and we were both kicked. these are just a few of the issues I’ve noticed while gaming. there are times when the internet just goes out, I am on my second device. My connection to the network is great, but the internet connectivity drops more often than it should. Recently the tower near me was upgraded which helped for downloading, but competitive gaming is still a struggle? Is this something that will be fixed or will I need to switch over to a trusty Fiber connection. I like the price I am paying for T-Mobile, but at the end

How do I connect a Netgear Nighthawk wifi range extender to the T-Mobile internet gateway

I have a Netgear Nighthawk EX7500 and can’t get it to recognize the new internet gateway. Neither Netgear (3hours on the phone over 2 calls) or T-Mobile(2hours on the phone). The router/modem light on the extender doesn’t light up so I can’t do anything with it. Netgear wanted $149.95 to diagnose on the 1st phone call and $75 on the 2nd call….no friggin way...highway robbery!!!

Using the TMobile ISP Box sim in a Netgear LB1120

I have the unlimited TMobile ISP internet modem, and it works ok, but it has limitations that I can solve by using a different modem. The TMobile ISP box does NOT have a bridge mode and it does NOT have external ports for external antennas. For those of us in rural areas this means we get maybe 1 bar of service. The NO bridge mode means I either intend to let the TMobile modem be a router as well as a modem, and I don’t like this idea for several reasons: 1) The firewall sucks. 2) no masquerade 3) No detail configurable firewall with subnets, 4) No embedded GPS for location & 5) the 2.4 & 5 Mhz Wifi is not powerful enough to reach the far corners of the home and those emitters interfere with the cellular signal at 1 bar, making upload speeds suck for a Plex server. So I prefer my Mikrotik router, and my Mikrotik AP’s stanmding alone on the network - which means I need the TMobile ISP modem to be in bridge mode, (but they don’t have a bridge mode) or I’ll encounter a double

Tmobile 5g home internet + Xbox Series X not compatible

Thanks to T-Mobile’s Test Drive, I can try out the home internet for 15days. I’m getting good speeds and so far so good… I was really happy with the service until………It’s not compatible with my Xbox Series X. Apps like YouTube, Twitch, Hulu all work. But if I want to play games online, that’s where it doesnt work. I get disconnected from the games respective servers. Doing a test on the network I get UPnP unavailable. I can retest until the UPnP is available but as soon as I start playing a game online, it disconnects. I see that I can attempt to connect a wireless router but I cannot control any settings on the App or if I log into router via a web browser. The only thing I can do is change names and passwords, but nothing else. Can a wireless router be connected to the gateway? If so, which brands will work best?There are other posts about this issue but no answer. I hope there is a solution or else the home internet goes back to T-Mobile and they will lose out on $50/month.

External Antenna Makes Massive Difference For Me!!!

Ok I decided to see what an external antenna would do and wow.I got the kit from Waveform as it’s an ok price and reputable money back company.So I have an n41 tower 3 miles to the SW, a B66 .5 miles to the W, and a n71 2 miles to the NW.If I put the can in the NW window it get the B66 ok and never holds the n71 for long. If I put the can in the S window it just does not hold the n41 or the B66.So I have been living with the can in the NW window with the B66 and 75/25 average and solid for days on end slow and steady.I wanted the n41 tower as my test show it rock on my phone so I figured let’s see if an ext ant can do anything.So remember can in S window cannot get the B66 to the W and also n41 is to weak. Open up can, remove 3 and 4, snap on new leads, put can back together, hook up ext ant that is just outside window aimed right at the n41 tower. Time to rock great signal and 650/110 speeds.So not that bars matter but in the NW window B66 was 3 bars almost -100dBm with SNR of 10db so

switching towers/bands --Hello I just got my 5g router in the mail 2 days ago the first day was a complete bust i had 3 bars but the connection was horrible/non existent so i tried did some research and used the app looking for the best signals and everything moving this thing all over for hours-still 3 bars and i would think thats enough I literally could not even get it to load speedtest before or a webpage hardly no connecting to anything basically when its on this band/tower not even the web user interface it also only has a primary connection and no secondary the primary is b71 and the secondary is not connected. then i just left it alone and randomly tried it and it only had 2 bars this time-weak according to the app but it actually loaded a webpage then i managed to get 50mbps on a speedtest and watch some youtube on 4k! i was feeling good i looked at the web interface and noticed i was not on the same band anymore and the primary b66 and secondary n71 bands and then bam it swit

Internet Gateway DHCP/DNS Address Settings

Recently received the home internet gateway, the tubular one. I would like to change the default DHCP settings to a different network. More importantly I want to use the OpenDNS or Cloudflare DNS for all of my devices. It doesn’t appear we can make these changes. We should at least be able to use a different DNS. Anyone have info on this? Thanks.
